My 99 2500 thats in my sig, that I just bought no less did something funny today. It hasnt been started or moved all week and when I went out a little while ago to back it out of the drive way and turn it around so i could back it into the garage I noticed it didnt have any power. If I put it into park and and gave it throttle it acted normal but in gear it was like it was hitting a limiter of some sorts. Is this a fuel pump or injector pump issue starting to raise its head???

Did it seem like the engine was weak, or the trans was sluggish? as in maybe low on fluid?

It wa acting like the engine was sluggish or rather hitting a rpm limiter when it was in drive. It would only go up to about 1200 rpms. If I put it in N I can wind it all the way up. It also did the same in reverse (no rpms) I checked the trans fluid and it was good

Is it acting the same today? Any codes?

I havent driven it today, it actually has only been driven once since I brought it home as I have 2 other trucks. I will try it latter if the weather clears up. I know I read it on here recently about cycling the key switch to read the codes is that correct?

Sounds like torque converter problem. Happened to me when I rebuilt my trans and put a new converter in. I started it and went to go it all but stalled the engine. Had my brain thinking awhile then finally did pressure test and narrowed it down to converter. I was ticked to find a new billet converter to be defective that could have wiped out the transmission again.
