Im sending my 97 to my local diesel speed shop to have him tweak it and would like to know what can I expect it to be putting out if I tell him to turn it up as much as the factory turbo can handle?

Im going for guages

a 4K GSK

advance the timing and what ever pump work he can do

possibly injectors

also getting the KDP killed, valves adjusted and new rocker box gaskets while its their:D

The charger will support about 400hp and at that power level it will be a toasty warm 400hp.

Keep in mind you can change the exhaust housings on the HX35's to something larger to control heat but you will run the charger out of its map around 40psi of boost. Above 40psi all it does is make heat and thats a bad deal.

Which shop are you taking it to?

IMO you can start having EGT challenges well before 400hp, I would say low 300s is max reasonably usable/sustainable HP (depending on setup & driving situation).

Unless you're planning to go big horsepower don't do the 4K kit, the 3K kit is has better manners & easier to set up and will provide you plenty of power to at least 3200+ RPM. My '98 pulls strong past 3500 with the 3K and will peg the tach if I let it.
