HVAC Mode 2 door question???

I purchased 3 '06-7 4 door 4x4 2500 trucks in '07 when I saw how sh*tty the 6. 7s were gonna be(not that the engine itself is the problem... . ). I also bought another '07 3500 2x4 and I'm glad I did. They've all replaced '95-'97 trucks. But I also bought an '07 6. 7, and I've had h*ll with the darn thing. It's almost burned down 3 times, just sitting cooling off. If I had a ranch hand driving it, it surely would be gone by now!! But I finally got it fixed and was enjoying it and the bale bed I had installed... ... Well, I WAS, it got rolled a few weeks ago, 10,800 miles... ... . :( Now I wish I'd made him keep driving the old '97.....

Anyway, I'm not going to part with these babies. I can't afford to have a truck driving around setting the place on fire, burning more diesel, and arguing with me every time I look up. DPF= Don't Purchase the F***er!!!

And your seeing a lot of the same thing with the old 5. 9s. While the dealers have gotten most of the 6. 7s to where they will get decent mileage, you're still not seeing them get the mileage of the old 5. 9s, and even the HPCRs are usually not as good as the old 12 valves. Despite the broken piston rings and constant injector problems these trucks see, people are just going to keep them to avoid having more problems with the 6. 7, or spending $1500 to get them to where they'll get better mileage and not have fire-starting capabilities.

Try craigslist.com. Lots of the trucks on there this morning. Central Oklahoma, around Tulsa and South, and North Central Texas, DFW area are where I was looking. Good luck.

Alright, Alright... quit rubbing it in guys. This isn't funny when you're the guy without a truck :)

didnt mean to rub it in... . just really intersting that when I originally purchased it, I financed 34K at 3. 99% interest for 48 months... here I sit, 5 years later with everything else(including the U. S. Dollar) worth less and less, that my old GOAT is actually holding its own!!!. When is the last time a "big three" vehicle was actually able to maintain its value!!... . I thought that was only reserved for Honda/Acura

They are impossible to find. Been on the look out for a couple of years.

Did find one that I'm wanting... only 14k miles. :D Not saying anything more.

My wife says "they're too old. "

I would be inclined to offer a finder's fee to anyone who can point me in the right direction of the truck I described. Depending on the mileage and color of the truck. I would be willing to pay up between $500-1000 finder's fee. PM me for details.

My '07 was a new truck but the '08s were out(fall of '07). I found it on the net over 250 mi. away. My local dealer called that dealer, negotiated the price, got my OK, and sent a rig down to trailer it back. Sometimes, especially at the end of the month when a salesman is trying to get his sales total up, he will bend over backwards for you. I realize that was a new truck and Chrysler was giving special incentives to get rid of inventory, but if a dealer wants your business, they should go the extra mile for you.

One would think this is the case, however, I had a dealer at greenautosales tell me that basically he didn't want keep a look at for means to check the site frequently.

I remember looking at (and kicking myself now) at an 06 SLT 4WD in 06. Could have been had for around $32k. My bride talked me out of it.

Now that's what they're still going for! The heck with classic cars, look for a 1998 12V 4WD Ram 2500 or a 2006-07 with the 5. 9 and you have your investment!

... ... got a couple of those 12v, too. :D Yep, they'll be wore out before I get rid of them, and the parts will go into the next unit to be wore out..... and when they get wore out, I'll be doing the same with the '06-7 trucks..... and I guess I'll have to start my own truck company some time around there to get something built that won't literally burn the barn down.....

Well, I stopped in my local dealer today to pick up a part for a friend and a salesman there was ALL OVER ME trying to talk me into trading my truck. He offered me 10K over top book for my truck AND was willing to do an almost even trade for a BRAND NEW 2011, was talking about $5K + my truck out the door. I looked at him and told him I would trade my truck for a new one if he GAVE me $5K to take a 2011 off his hands, I knew why he was offering SO much, because NO ONE wants the new trucks, too many problems with the DPF stuff and SORRY FUEL ECONOMY . . I get 20mpg's running empty and 14-15 towing my 32' 13-14K bp trailer, and the 2011 would never see the 14-15 empty. He just stood there looking at me with a pitiful expression when I said NOT THANKS.

Even in this pitiful economy,I see new trucks everywhere so they are selling pretty well. The newest software appears to be working well with the new ones. Keep that truck. 14-15 mpg towing a 14K trailer?

Holy cow! I have been searching for a 2006-2007 5. 9L Mega Cab 4x4 with 3. 73 gears and a 6-speed and under 60K for two months and have been very unsuccessful. I know it won't come cheap but I thought I might post something here in hopes that someone knows where I should try looking. I know there are people out there that are particularly good at finding certain vehicles... . just hoping someone here knows a person or place like that. . Thanks

P. S. Grey, Electric Blue, Silver or Patriot Blue would be even better.

Not sure how far you want to travel for this truck... but. . I did a quick random search on craiglsist for the DFW area and the Houston area and got several hits... .

There are LOTS of pickups here in Texas... .

I see tons of trucks for sale, but what he's looking for is hard to find. Seems they didn't build many mega cabs with a standard, or they're just not for sale. I've found some, but they're higher mileage or duallies. Guess the secret of no fuel mileage on the 6. 7s is out... ...

I went by one of my local dealers, and the owner's son is the Dodge side manager(they sell Dodge and Ford). After several salesmen hit me up about a trade, he even hits me up for a fleet trade!! I just laugh at him, and ask him if he'll guarantee the mileage and extend the warranty. He smiles back, and just says he had to try. It's just business, same as on my end. Which starts the whole justification series, with him stating the new trucks have a lot of features the older ones didn't, and the new software is so much more reliable. I counter with, well, the cows haven't figured out how to use touch-screen yet, and they have a hard time finding anything to eat when the pasture is burned off..... But I still see alot of new trucks moving off the lot, so I guess someone's buying them. I know it's not me or any of my friends.....

yep. . a guy at work tried to buy an 05 SLT 4x4 off the local lot that had 150K on the clock... nothing fancy but not stripped either... dealer was asking 27500... . he test drove the truck, thought about it for a couple of days... called them up and the dang truck was gone!!...

Oh, and right now, it wouldnt take much to burn a pasture off... . I'm SO GLAD I have still got some hay left!!!. .

When I've called some of the dealers, they pretty much laugh at me and say good luck. I can't believe how ridiculously difficult it is to find a truck! I almost had one yesterday that was 48 miles away. The dealer had just sold it before I called! The search continues...

just curious anybody know how many mega cabs with 5. 9s where produced? i actually test drove a half ton mega cab when we were searching. did not really want a hemi, 10-12mpg just wasnt very enticing but it is the only half ton mega i have ever seen.

hemi mega cabs are on 3/4 frames, yest considered 1/2 truck as far as reregistration. for some its way cheaper to tag this way. I see a few around.
