I have a 2004 Ram 4X4 2500 that I converted to DWR complete with the proper 3. 70 Locker rear end. It was a project that I would never undertake ever again. However, on the subject of tire rotation this is what I have done for the past 2 sets of tires. Bear in mind that the front end still has the original OEM wheel setup. I check my tire pressure often and set it appropriately for the load. The rear set has the Budd style dished wheels. I do not rotate at all. Since I do a lot of towing my rear tires tend to wear out quite evenly and slower than the fronts. The front end has a free spin kit that did provide me with a 1 to 1. 5 MPG increase. However when I added the dually setup that subtracted the gain. Anyway, when the fronts wear down I purchase 4 new tires for the rear and install 2 of the rear take offs on to the front. When those fronts wear out I use the remaining 2 from the rear until they wear down. At that point it's time to buy another set of 4 for the rears and use 2 of the rear take offs for the front.
It has worked out pretty good so far. I am just clicking over 170K and are 1/2 way through my 2nd set of rears rears since the dually conversion. I installed the DynaTrac Free spin kit at 60k and the Dually conversion on the truck at approx 80k.
