Mine never have either. I traveled the north American continent with relaxed confidence in my old '01 for 325k miles and the '06 for 230k.

Many hotshot haulers and RV transporters run their old Dodges to a million miles and more without being stranded.

Of the 4 that we have owned to date, there have been 2 times when they have been hauled home. My former '01 had a VP-44 failure exactly 1 mile from the house. Had a new pump on the shelf so it was up an running in a couple of hours. Last year, the '04. 5 came home on a flat bed after the AC compressor froze up and tossed the belt. I could have fixed it on the road, but chose to bring it home and work on it in the garage. Not too bad for a completely abused work truck with hundreds of thousands of miles on it.

Never, until last week. Now twice: starter (actually solenoid) failed, and today, the transmission broke. It's now at TRE in VA Beach for a rebuild.

115 K, stock power.

Had the truck since it was new, no problems with it at ant time! I always have stuff fixed before a problem arise's:d

:-laf I can remember one incident that was looking sketchy at 100+ degrees,no cell service and barely any tools on board miles from no where in a well kept up green truck

short answer NO

long answer NO

my 99 CTD 136K driven from Prudhoe Bay AK to Key West FLA and many points in between Pulling many different trailers. the only side of the road repair was in Montana when the intercooler hose blew off while pulling a 20000 lb trailer in -25 degree temps froze my hands off but got it up and running and on my way STILL love the 99

#4 injector line blew on Friday the 13th and had to pull off on exit 187, 100 miles from home

water pump went out 10 miles from home

Fuel rail pressure sensor went out 5 miles from home

Have owned four CTD trucks over the years, only one (a '94) left me on the side of the interstate just once. Stupid plastic clip broke that held in the transmission cooler line and it dumped it all the fluid out at Mile Marker 206. Had to call a rollback that time.

Made up a new transmission line at work, filled her back up with fluid, and headed for home. Never hurt the transmission.

As far as I know the truck's transmission is still working well to this day.

Other than that the trucks have always got me back home under their own power. ;)

#4 injector line at 80k miles... left me stranded 1/2 way between Shiprock, NM and Cortez, CO. I was lucky enough to have 1 bar on my cell phone to call a wrecker. I had it towed it to the Dodge dealer in Cortez, and without even opening the hood their tech said he'd put money on it being the #4 injector line, based on the smell alone. It was, and I bought a spare. He said it was one of their most common repair jobs.

two auto-trans failures. once about 1-1/2 miles from the house, and once in the parking lot where my wife works.

those days should be over, now with the G56 in

I have close to 200K logged since I've been 'rammin and rattling.
My 'ol '92 never left me stranded, but I would loose OD due to a bad speed sensor plug. That truck suffered a horrible death after I sold it, but the engine and trans lives on today in member Roadking's Ramcharger conversion.
My present '04. 5 has never ever even burped- ever @ 93K, yes I am knocking a piece of wood as I type this. This is the age when things start happening. The plan with this truck is working out very well. It's paid off, It's doing exactly what I wanted, and makes me happy. I plan to hold onto it for quite a while. However I am rolling the dice with the original batteries, front end and clutch.
