hoot you gotta understand a guy who is upset his box of corn flakes cost more these days. It HAS TO BE the rich old farmers.

He thinks there is actually CORN in corn flakes.

He thinks Ethanol caused it when it actually reduces the price of gasoline. It cleans out the dirty fuel system that is from dirty dino fuels too.

Maybe he raises rice or farms or is invested in the oil rigs in some way, I don't know.

He is pretty grumpy at times so go easy on him.

i think i'll just keep making my own BD at 40 cents a gallon,,i'm quite happy to fill up my truck for about 10 bucks,,,so all the biodiesel naysayers can keep paying $150. 00 to fill up their trucks and swear when they put in the nozzle as i drive by smilling and drivng around in my dually just for fun,,,LOL...

It's so stupidly easy to make i dont understand why more people dont try it,,,yakes me about an hour to set up a batch and walk away,,,

Of course you need a couple of good oil sources,,but their not that hard to get if you any kind of decent personality,,

Im starting to laugh at the cost of the fuel after it's made. The only thing I have against BIO is that for now it's a warmer weather fuel. It wont do good in winters in MT. BIL and I have invested in one of these as he has an 03 my 04 and my wifes converted 1ton Chev with 12valve my Inter-trash-inoal ALL RUN JUST FINE ON IT Standard Extractor - Extreme Biodiesel Whats really nice we get all the oil for FREE :-laf and ask around I dont have a decent personality the oil is from a family member so they dont have to like me they got me like it or not:-laf We kick ourself for not getting a bigger one. And I wish it was made someplace other than CALIF, The soap is great for the livestock Im not brave enough to use it my carrot yet

I think this is a misnomer. Ive been running pure gas (no alcohol) in my cars for maybe 6 months or more now. I consistantly get 10% plus better gas mileage than with corn gas, and my cars run better, more power, and are more fun to drive. So, I am actually paying less for miles driven than I would with corn gas. This was a scam to get votes from the mid west.



If you disagree with that, I'm pretty sure that either I'm somehow attacking your rice bowl, or you are one of the people that PT Barnum said he can fool all of the time.

LOL... i know,,,it's crazy to think i'm filling up my truck for about 10 bucks,,LOL... . i love it,,,and no,,i dont run it in the winter,,,most of the winter i'm running 50/50 jet fuel and canola oil,,,the milder winter last year here allowed me to run that blend pretty much all the time...

I have a canola oil connection who gives me about 400 16 L pails every year,,and his oil is like new,,crystal clear,,,you see right doen to the bottom,,,i'm pretty spoiled,,i know

remember when corn got expensive a couple years ago. just after that, some ethanol plants went belly up. guess who bought the distilleries. yep a couple oil companies. who do you think bought the corn futures... ... yep it came out a few months later... the same two oil companies... they are now producing their own ethanol to fill the mandated 10% ethanol the feds want. we could import ethanol or sugar at a lower price from brazil to use instead of corn, if we didn't have embargo's preventing the importation for the purpose of making fuel. .

brazil uses 95% bio products for motor fuel. and guess what our current leaders are doing. giving brazil money to drill for oil so we can buy it from brazil. of course we can't drill for our own oil... look off shore of south florida. those oil rigs on the horizon are owned by china, hired by cuba to drill just off our boundary. i bet they are horizonal drilling north...

of cousre they are,,,as usual the US want to bleed other countries dry before they tap into they're own sources,,of course china's econny will surpass our own in very short time,,and THEY will be getting the world oil,,,and THEN ,,We;ll have no choice but to drill in our own reserves,,since all other supplies will be going to china because THEY'RE economy will be able to absorb it,,there will be no reason to worry about us since we'll no longer be a MAJOR power,,,but THEY will be,,,and all thanks to our great goverment who regulated all our manufacturers to death and force them to China,,who will sit back and watch us go the way of Ethiopia,,Opec and China will take over unless we get some goverment with balls,,,and soon,,so we can keep burrying our heads in the sand,,,oe speak up and demand change,,starting with getting that moron out of the white house,,,,too bad he'll be remembered as the only president to rack up such debt and practicaly bankrupt the US,,,he was an experiment that FAILED miserably,,hopefully the people wont make that mistake again,,he was a lot of firsts... unfortunately none of it is good,,LOL... i sure hope we turn things around,,and get back our superiority,,but it's not looking good,,

Your opinion is welcome. I say the ethanol reduces pump prices because it is 10% less inported fuel.

I have had only ONE vehicle that got worse mileage with the 10% ethanol. All others either show a little better or no difference.

My durango with a modified engine actually feels more responsive on E-85! But it does suffer a tad on mileage with it. The cost /mileage is the same with either fuel.

Lets get back to the bio-diesel topic.

we did get side-tracked a bit on this thread,,but seems biodiesel always seem to end end mixed with politics,,LOL... for those who make it ourselves at 40 cents a gallon it;s great,,for those who aren't educted about it and think it's straight veg oil and keep believing the stories of damaged,,not so much,,,but hey,,they more who dont belive the better for the home brewer since it means less competition for oil,,and we still get it free,,

i burn bio in my 6. 7 whenever i can. it runs quieter and i've had no issues.

i have all of the oem garbage/equipment still on the truck.

the little ford, i use a two tank veg oil system. less than . 30/gallon for recycled veg oil in the 2nd tank after cleaning/filtering.

it still has the original injectors. starts easy and runs smooth. i do wish it had a turbo. maybe someday one will appear on it... it has about 80% less smoke when burning bio or veg oil. (a difference from coal black smoke while pulling hills or getting up to speed... . to a slight haze with veg oil).
