More changes?

Hello out their

Not receiving sub notifications by email. Checked... I'm subscribed, set to instant. email is correct.

And YES thank you for all the hard work making this the best diesel site out there!

I did go to my subscriptions page. There is a check box that wasn't checked on my subs. I assumed the global setting took care of that. When I go to thread tools, it does show I am subscribed.

It was working off and on.

PM Problem

I have noticed that after I send a PM to someone I try to go back to the forum part of the site MOST of the time I have been dropped off site and have to re-sign on again. 9 out of 10 times this happens.

No email notification, no last name please.

Hello, I am finally coming to grips with the new format.

  1. No email notification for subsribed threads
  2. Search does not seem to include the old forum posts... a real probelm, especially since I have a 2001 truck a lot of information is hiding there. DO I have to go to the archives to find this?
  3. Please hide my last name also.

Thanks again... JK

I just got my first email notification since the update... however it's about a week late. Specifically, the email (dated 8/27) said my thread had just gotten a reply but that reply was from 8/18.

I have had the best luck searching as follows. .

Go into any forum...

ScreenHunter_87 Aug. 27 08.40.jpg

Select "Search Forum"

ScreenHunter_81 Aug. 27 08.29.jpg

ScreenHunter_82 Aug. 27 08.29.jpg

Select "Advanced Search"

ScreenHunter_83 Aug. 27 08.36.jpg

Make sure that the top box ("Search In") shows "Posts", not "Forums"

Now the rest of it has the familiar search that we all know and love.....

Still no emails... any update on when the archives will be included in the search results? Thanks.

I have started receiving e-mail notifications today, but they are for posts back on Aug. 18th or so. I assume that they will get into current time before long.

I think that the archives already are included. I just did a search to check.

Used my instructions above, set it to "2nd Gen trucks", searched for "transmission lines". Got many pages of results, stopped looking 10 pages in. The dates were 2005 on that tenth page.

Or am I misunderstanding the question???

Don't get me wrong, I had been struggling with the search as well but what I have posted seems to work.

Mike.

The server is catching up on emails. It ran out of space in the mail queue volume - which has never happened before (not sure why it happened this time but I'll be monitoring it). It's sending out the notifications that were missed and should be current now.

All posts/threads are included in searches back to the beginning of the site - there is a 500 result limit though so if you are getting 500 results then you will need to refine your search further. If you pull down the discussion forums menu to search forums and then click on the tab that says "Search Single Content Type" you'll get a search page that is very much like the old search which allows you to select individual forums, etc. If you go there and you were searching on the old site I'm pretty sure you'll be able to figure it out.

Hi Steve,
One question for you, what happened to the pictures that we had on our post that we uploaded? I forget the exact term that it was called, but if you made a post, there was a link by your name to view the pictures. Is it gone for good? or is it still in our profiles somewhere and I'm just not seeing it?
Great work by the way, I appreaciate the effort that people put in on behalf of others.
