How to start a fight

Please educate me!

I had a wired hands free (I dont like bluetooth) for years. A couple of months ago it fell out of my car door and I ran over it. What I liked about it was that it had a volume control. I could boost the volume. But now I cant find one with the vol control. I dont thing they make them anymore. The wired hands free I bought is just not loud enough, and I have to push the bud into my ear with my right hand while I drive. If anything, it is probably more dangerous than just talking on the phone w/o the hands free.

I have a bluetooth in my truck:

1. It doesn't speak my language - or I don't speak the proper dialect of electronica - wants to connect me to a different name or number.

2. I don't like things stuck in or hanging on my ear in anticipation that I "might" receive a call

3. When I want to use it, the battery is usually dead. Charger at home.

So, it now officially occupies console space and performs an important function in the weights and balance group of things (ink pens, cassette tapes, hair scrunchies, etc) which help maintain proper CG and traction.

I'll answer the phone if there isn't much going on (on the road) and if they are in my contact list (phone book). Usually phone won't ring when I'm on the highway and not near large cities but I can make a call almost anywhere(most of the time when I'm not driving).

My sister loves to call me on my produce runs just to check in with me (usually on way back to the Produce Stand). Both the Mule and Moose ( especially the Freightliner) make enough noise I can't here what she(or anyone) is saying anyway so I yell in the phone I call them when I get back.

Don't like when other people are using phones while driving so I try not to.

You certainly aren't the only one who feels that way, but I know that you, and I for that matter, are in the minority. Keep in mind, we grew up at a time where the only phone you had access to on the road, was bolted to a wall and you needed a dime to use. The younger crowd today are amazing with those things. They can talk, walk, text, eat, smile, fart, and whatever else with a phone in their hand and never blink an eye. I certainly don't like to see anyone use those things while they are on the road, but the kids are much more capable of it than I am at this point.

I'm certainly not going to tell you that I never answer a call while driving. But, it is few and far between. Besides, at this point, nobody really wants to talk to me anyway.

You hit the nail on the head although not all the young'uns are all that good with it. I've seen the results of those and it not only affects them but us as well.

To the original poster, we are supposed to wear a blue tooth device but there are way over 50% I would say out here that don't. I wear one but everyone that knows me is aware that they better have a good reason to call me. Like you I grew up with phone on the wall and wish it would have stayed that way!
