Driving my truck a few days ago and switched it from cold to hot, heard some break. Now I get very little heat out of the vents. Assuming its a door that broke or a plastic clip that dried out and snapped. Any of you all have experience with this. Really gotta fix it as I use the defrost all this time of the year.

Yes, the blend door directs the air across the heater core to give heat at the vents and to control AC temp when it is too cold in cab. The other door is the recirculate door that either takes in outside air or recirculates the air inside cab and there has to be a diverter to change from floor, vents, defrost, etc. . bg

On my 97 the end of the attachment point snapped off. I did a teporary repair, that so far is permanent, using a stainless screw.

Thanks fellers, I will have to get in there and take a look. I repaired one of the doors with a Heater Treater door, but it was the one with the plastic sorta grate over the top for re circulation...

Scotty,

Does your Mega Cab have duel heat control? I just replaced mine and could only use two of the Heater Treater doors. Recirc and mode 1doors. Ended up buying the lower heater case from Dodge after many phone calls to get the correct part #.

It does have the dual zone heater/AC deal. .

Can you pass along the part #? I might have to go down that road?

680 21977AB this is the lower case housing. It comes with the mode 2 and rear vent doors. I had to replace the lower case because the actuator pulled the cam out of the housing and wrapped the rod around the mode 2 door lever. Below is a letter I sent to Heater Treater trying to figue out away to make their door work. Let me know if the pictures turn out.

I am checking to see if there is an optional axle / limit pin available for my 2007 3500 mega cab heating system Mode 2 door?
The picture #1546 shows the axle pushed all the way in the door shaft so that the limit pin engages the stops.
#1543 shows the axle connected to the motor and the limit pin is pulled away from the stops.
And with #1544 how would I hook up the connecting rod to the rear heat doors?

That works good for me. I am putting off digging into it, as I am still getting some, but I just know it is monkeyed up and not working as it should. Would rather put it off till I can get into it and fix it properly, as you have. Thank you very much for the pictures.
