I would think that RAM would want to clear old inventory, and avoid a repeat of the fiasco several years ago when the 4th generation mini-vans were introduced. They practically had to give away the left over 3rd generation vans to get rid of them. I'll also be curious to see what the 3500 SRW with the Aisin transmission is going to cost- probably way too rich for my blood.

Anybody but me starting to lose interest in the new trucks? The 2013s should have been out five or six months ago. I understand some of their marketing foo, but it's beginning to get anticlimactic, and a little on the stupid side.

It is a very simple situation. The diesel Emmision year starts Jan 1. Why have a low power 13 and another version with the new system and more power a couple months later? Oh wait... ... ..... they have done that before ;)

I had two bad injectors right from day one. They were leaking but wouldn't trip a code, only when the weather got cool did they really show their ulglyness by filling my crankcase with fuel. The dealer said that along with changing the injectors that he found a re-flash for better preformance and something with the EGR cycle. All I know is it seems to work. The truck use to make oil now it just uses it... . lol About 1 qt in 2,000 miles.

I'm verry happy to report this truck has been flawless since the bad injectors were changed out. While the MPG's still suck running 15. 7 to 16. 5 week in week out. The computer has yet to scream "OIL CHANGE DUE" I'm now over 3,000 miles on the last oil change most I've ever been able to go. We've had cold weathe here on Li and it has started and heated up much faster than any cummins truck that I've owned to date. I'm looking forward to the trip to the Cummins factory this spring. Maybe the snow will have melted and I can get this thing washed by then.

Has anyone given the automeeter gauges that Geino's a try? I had used the Issapro in my last truck while they worked the background lighting left much to be desired. I'm thinking about a gauage set but not sure I want to loose the grab handel... ...

I don't know if its my imagination, but when the engine is cold and I put the exhaust brake on, it sounds like it's partially on at idle also, which was one way to help heat 2&3 gen's up before. . Is mine broke or is that incorporated in the programming of the 4g's?

Yes, my exhaust brake is on (variable nozzle ring in minimum flow position) at cold idle when I have the EB function switched on. It speeds warm-up.

I check over the 2013 2500, (test Drive) You will need to go too the 3500 to get the New Frame, Axles ,Engine 385,Trans 69 Asin, DL, Brakes, Suspension, The 2500 (2013) is No more then the 2012 2500 with the New Interior and Urea Exhaust. So Now it looks to be a Big jump to the 3500, I Never did like the 2500/3500 differences, Now 3500 will be more then the F-450.

The interior was Nice with the New Dash and VIC.

I called Dodge and asked a parts person(in June 2012) if there was any difference in the 2012 3500 to 2500 brakes, transmission, front the rear axle and he checked parts, said no. So in essence, your paying for the sticker weight ratings till you go dually, max tow etc. The 2013 2500's as I can tell now, are rated at the 2012 3500 ratings, which makes registration etc much cheaper in a lot of states. If Mr. Anti Petro (POTUS) does not bring down fuel prices soon, my 3500 max tow dually will go bye, for a 2500 since I will not be travel/tow a 5th near as much as planned when the 3500 was bought. Maybe just can the CTD, RV and call it quits all together. Then go back to a 4 door gas miser car, maybe a Pis-us and join the greeny goof balls. . LOL

Bug Out ,You are correct, In MN the commercial Plate F and Higher start at $120. 00 Per Year, My New 2012 1500s close to $400. 00 in 2012 & 13. My point is the 3500 2013 is WAY more truck then the 2013 2500. I think the 2013 2500 will work for the weekend Warrior that drive 250 miles pulling the 5th RV but I drive the Rockies all winter long 6000+ miles pulling My snowmobile Trailer and even though I added Better Brakes ,Suspension, DL , Trans, Etc ,I still want More Truck. This winter We did Not encounter any real bad wintry Road conditions ( I try to avoid driving in wintry Roads) I have in the past and I have seen with/By own eyes the carnage of NOT enough truck couple with Rookie Drivers (Wanabees) and WAY to Much Trailer... .

I never really could see a reason for a 3500 SRW. If the 2500 wasn't enough truck then get a 3500 dually. The 2013 model 2500 and 3500 SRW are both rated at 25,000 gcw with 3. 42's.

I have about 14,000 on my 3500 SRW Megacab now. Love the ride, power, room, and features of the truck. Hate the fuel mileage 13. 5 average, and the idiot oil change system.

Does the 2500 share the front-axle disconnect, or does it continue with the current system?

OK here it is, Maybe It will be here in Sept 2013.

Ok it's been a while but I've now got over 20,000 miles. Just did my first long distance run towing. Ok wasn't a huge boat only 23' around 6500 lbs. But I'm happy to report that it did the job well very well. I was getting 17. 2-17. 6 MPG (hand figured) towing my empty boat trailer averaging 64 mph. Return with the project boat I was getting 14. 5MPG. That's almost as good as my old 05 would give! One thing I have noticed is the 6. 7's tourque does not fall off above 2400 rpm like the 5,9 would. It just keeps pulling, and pulling strong, right up to 3000 rpm. I have to say that the truck has been flawless since the leaking injectors were changed. Next trip is to the Cummin's plant see ya there next month.

Update, though Truck had vib at 62-74 it was found out to be Road ripples, I won't test drive on the hill and road again, it will be some time before its put into pulling service, Waiting on the word form Ram on the Aux Switches, and the Ball for hitch, Ram really drop the Ball on the Hitch... ... ... . Its definitely the most powerful factory Truck I've ever operated, The engine compartment has circuit breakers everywhere Including the battery terminals, they did do away completely with TIPM (YEY).

On Negative side ,Ram this truck was ordered with every option except DRW, and Body Molding's, ( I will put on) It's missing the Overload Springs ,Rear Alum cover, Aux Switches, GN Ball and Safety chain Brackets. @ $64,420. 00 MSRP... . ugh.
