Has anyone installed a valve in the heater hose line to make the air conditioner run cooler. Considering doing this but is this a bad idea?

I did this on my Ford and it worked great. Had not thought about it for this truck yet.

Need to find out if truck constantly cycles coolant. Some do and some don't.

What size is the heater hose to the heater core, 5/8 or 3/4? So I'll know what size valve to get, on the '07.

Just to add more to the possibilities. If memory serves correctly many people who were doing this on the OBS powerstrokes back in the day were using a valve from a ranger. It was vacuum controlled and could be tied right into the existing set up. So when you selected cold it shut it off. Hot it opened.

I never got that fussy about it. It was crazy hot in Boise when I lived there 9 months a year. Once I moved to NH I opened it and never needed to close it.

Only problem I can see with this vale is it freezing up over time, in either the open or closed position. A short throw ball valve would work better & be cheaper.
