You if you grow up with it you know what and how to deal with it. But as stated and on the news the SE states aren't really prepared for it I think because it happens so seldom. The news out of ATL was pretty nasty about traffic etc.
This pic is from an SC DOT traffic cam of one of the major bridges in Charleston SC completely empty, it was closed to all traffic. They closed all major bridges in the CHS area and one of them the Ravanel is still closed.
I drove in on the bridge in the pic this AM, I grew up in Cleveland and road salt was a fact of life in the winter, but I've NEVER seen as much salt on a road as they put on this bridge. Its so much they might have to clean some up cause it might act like loose gravel later.
BIG my backyard is my getaway, I've got about 3+ cord of wood all hardwood just for my firepit. Its on just under 3 acres out in the county.
Never been on a snow machine unless my Cub Cadet 100 with chains and plow blade counts.
