Code kicked out the other day. #P1757. Has to do with Pressure and Solenoid. Took the truck to a Transmission shop. Said it would be around $600 to fix. Seems rather high. Checking online, parts would run around $200. Considering doing it myself. Any ideas and how difficult would this be.

electricaladvantage.com has the gm style solenoid at a decent price. I have put 2 of them in with good luck. Dropping the pan is probably the hardest part of the job.

Thanks to the three of you,

I ordered the parts from Suncoast. Geno's put me in touch with them. The two links were very helpful.

Now I just need to figure out how to eliminate some of the transmission fluid mess.

Thanks again

Better yet install an after market HD pan that has a drain. It helps strengthen the transmission case also. Chris

Thanks, that is a great idea. I was going to pump out and then once the pan was off, put on a drain kit. Drilling a hole is a lot easier.

Thanks again.

I would not just drill a hole without knowing what is in that area above the pan. I believe the stock pans are close to the filter and other things. Chris

Most of the kits tell you where to drill. The passenger side of the pan about 2/3 of the way back is clear of obstructions. Just have to make sure to drill the hole between the pan rail bolts or it makes it tough to get a socket on them.
