Tow Haul question

Has anybody experienced any problems with the power tilt mirrors on 4th Gen Rams?

In the last month I have noticed that often times my drivers side mirror had not come back to the normal setting after backing up. Even when it does come back the selected position setting, this left mirror just barely moves, while the right side mirror changes position very quickly, which is normal.

I can reset the left mirror and it will come back to normal driving position after the reverse tilt for several cycles and then it will stop short again.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and of course looking for suggestions on trouble shooting, before having the dealer check it out.

My 2012 is having those problems too, it also is moving backwards to the control switch. There must be a switch inside the tow mirror that knows when it's in the flipped up position it change the switch wiring to operate the settings in the new position. When mine is flipped up everything works fine, when down pushing control button to go left makes mirror move up. This problem comes and goes, some days it's fine and some day's it's not. I did notice after a car wash it messed up again. Mine is the left side too, I haven't been able to pin the problem down and think it's in the mirror motor itself. I have an old mirror from an 03 and took it apart to play with it, the motor has four wires and must have a mercury switch or some sort of weight inside so the mirror switches the wiring to the motors to reverse the wiring when mirror is up. Mine must be stuck in that position even when down. If you discover something let me know.

The same problem developed with one of the tow mirrors on my 2001. I'd intended to replace the offending mirror for several years but ultimately the problem was solved by trading the truck in on a 2014. :)

I looked at the motor from an 03 and it's not the same. I can't find where I can just buy the motor instead of buying the whole expensive mirror. I only owned the truck about a year and a half, but drive a lot of miles on the highway and have 50,000 miles on it, so my basic warranty had expired.

The Right Side Mirror did the same thing as the left one did. I have now had both replaced under extended warranty.
