Ok, Just found some info it has to do with the DEF sensor. My guess is being everything is very frozen (was 8 last night and this morning) here it got a strange reading? Friend at dealer said to clear and see if it shows up again....
Ok, so money well spent on the Cd manual. I open it up go into the trouble shooting section system diag. There I find the list of DTC's scroll down through the list, and it's a long list and there it is P24E2 ammonia sensor click on it and the whole thing comes up what it is how it works and what to look for to test it. First thing they said was to remove the DEF injector and check for chrystalazation clogging it. Ok easy enough for us shade tree guys to do.... Go to the DEF system section of the manual there it is where it's located how it works and how to remove and re- install it. So out into the cold and under the truck tem min later it's out and looking nice and clean. But I notice the unit is dry so id the plumbing. Now I'm thinking the worst DEF pump failure..... Back to the manual... Ok I don't have the laptop nor the programs to test anything the right way but what the hell live life on the edge... I hook up the injector but don't install it back into the SRC start the truck and check it sure enough No DEF coming out. remove the injector from the plumbing but leave it hooked up electricaly start the enging sure enough No DEF from the supply line. Nor do I hear the pump running. At this point I'm about to toss in the towel and admit defeat. I re assemble everything and I'm about to call it a day. That jug of apple pie moonshine is sounding really good right now. Then it hits me check the fuse dummy. Sure enough there in the very fine print number F08 and F19 there are fuses for the DEF system. And as luck would have it F19 is blown. Swap in the spare and start it up and with in 5 min I get the normal wisp of water vapor out the tail pipe. I hear the DEF pump running. Plug in my scan tool and No codes. My guess is the other night when it was 8 degrees the computer tried to turn on the DEF pump only it was frozen solid. Poping the fuse. Guess I'll wait and see if it happens again. For anyone thinking about getting the shop manual get it as the info is priceless on a Sunday afternoon. I know it sure helped me find my way around and find my issue.
