Today's Posting from the Bangor PD...

Don't see this in the news very often......

Pretty sure I started my subscription in '94 after buying my 1st Cummins. I took a break for a year or so (money was tight and not much time to read) a few years later, but joined again. (maybe when the website launched? I seem to remember that as a really big deal)

It just hit me, that's a LONG time.

2003 for me. This site has saved me allot of money and helped me go in to the shops and tell them what to fix in cases where I didn't/couldn't do the work myself. I have been "informed" at many times to know more than the mechanics at the dealerships. The good ones are few and far between and the good ones that I've known have moved on from the dealerships to start there own shops.

I joined July 2001, have not been able to contribute to the technical threads much over the years because I have left my truck stock and have not had to do much work on it, all things considered. It has been a great truck for hauling and towing, particularly with the Bigfoot truck camper I used to carry.

I have really enjoyed the TDR magazine through the years, seeing so many smart people writing about the trucks in print and on the forums (Joe Donnelly, illflem, the list is long and illustrious). TDR has provided great payoff over the years for a very small investment, I wish there was an equivalent for my other interest areas. I have a lot of professional societies and hobby groups where I pay a LOT more and get a lot LESS in return. Kudos to TDR, the Geno's Garage staff, and the forum moderators.

And of course the biggest kudos of all go to Dodge and Cummins --- who who would have imagined in the 1990s that we would be able to buy stock trucks in the 400 hp / 800 lb-ft range?

I'll be a ten year member in two months. ;) MLee I noticed in your sig you have Dee Zee running boards, how do you like the strength and quality of them? I'm about ready to order a set of them for my 2014.

And there you have it folks! A fine example of the foundation of the TDR and some of how it's been successful. offering and sharing information. People with a common interest sharing that and their experiences.

If it wasn't for RustyJC posting the B&W Elite Flat Bed with the new C&C back in 2006, I would not own that exact truck. Its weird that MLee's post disappeared, after I responded to his post on this thread.

Yes- I wonder what happened? That post was there this morn. RV, I say that truck is just SHARP every time I see it. Looks factory.

Thanks, it is a family heirloom now, unfortunately I let my daughter drive it, and was told I can't get rid of it. :-laf:-laf:-laf

Ya know I don't remember posting on this thread, maybe I'm getting older than I thought, and a little Alzheimer, is staring to set in.
Been a member since 01 but done a little nosing around before that. Still have the 95, wife says no to a newer one. Two sons are converts to the Cummins, 04 and 14.

Trkn The running boards were one of the first things I put on in 95. I love them, they are still tight and sturdy and very strong, along the bed I use them a lot. They are wheel to wheel, only way to go. See if I have pic to show. They Won't come up now. I"ll try and see if I can find it. DeeZee at that time had all kinds of choices.

Joined October 1995. Will be 20 years, sure don't seem that long. Guess I was 30yo back then. First truck was a 1996 2500 quad cab. Ordered from factory and picked up from dealer early Oct 95. Jointed after the fella getting my new truck ready to go at the dealership told me about the TDR. Now on second truck 2003 3500 quad cab.
