My Connect 8.4 in settings shows Display Brightness Day and Display bBrightness Night. The Day Brightness can be adjusted but the Night Brightness wil not chnge, Seems to be locked at 5. Problem is that in California the law requires the headlights to be on when raining. It then dims the display to the point that it cannot be seen. I thing it worked before the last flash for the RF HUB.

Anyone know if it should be adjustable?

Went out and tried it. There is a 'click' position just above max and before the interior lights that turns the birghtness to full. However the adjustment in settings remains locked at 5. Strange.

Can you adjust yours in the app, settings, display menu?

Somewhere in the settings you can select lights on with wipers. The lights will then automatically come on when you turn your wipers on and the display will stay at daytime settings

What I learned... with the display mode in manual, you need to turn the headlights on and this will allow you to change it. Basically, if the lights are off, it allows you to change the lights off brightness, but not lights on. When the lights are on, then you can adjust the lights on brightness, but not the lights off brightness.

The setting for lights on with wipers is right. My problem is that I cannot under any conditions that I have found change the DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS. Set at 5 for night and 10 for day. I think I remember last year when I got the truck that I could adjust them.

This is not a truck . It's a COMPUTER ON WHEELS!. Gimme a good old switch and a rheostat!

Hmmm, mine's a 20015. Maybe there was a change?

OK Found it. I must be going blind or getting old and stupid. However no matter where it is set the night setting remains at 5. It is greyed out and I get the bloop when touching the butting not the beep.

This thing must be running the Communist Chinese version of Windows 8!

However it is better than the user interface on my VW Passat!

Like in my post above, turn your headlights on, THEN you can adjust that setting.
It's hard to tell in my photo but my "Display Brightness with Headlights on" is greyed out too, but when I turn my headlights on, it is no longer greyed out, but then the "...headlights off" will be. I also noticed that it will retain whatever I adjust it to.

OK I can adjust it that way but when I leave the adjustment screen it reverts to the old dim setting. As I sid earlier, I believe this worked properly before a trip to have the recall for the RF Module done. Also I "THINK" they tried to change the TPMS setting but said they couldn't. I will have another go at it tomorrow. Had to take the VW to the body shop since it was backed into last week. Agravating. New car and WHAM!

THANK YOU!!

Mystery solved. My not yet velcroed down dash mat had shifted. Guess I should get with it and finish the job.

I searched through the owners manual and not a clue. I WANT A SHOP MANUAL! GRRRRR!

Well, looks like there was a change from the 14 to the 15. I have AUTO DAY and NIGHT. By having the lights on and selection NIGHT I can change the number but it does not increase the brightness. (the problem with the dash mat was just plain stupidity and not part of this issue)

I would think that with both DAY and NIGHT set to 10 that te brightness would be the same. Am I wrong?

Weird, I thought I responded yesterday. I must not have clicked "post..."

Anyway, I really have no idea what is going on with it. The information I have shared so far in this thread I learned by going outside and fiddling with it. I'm no expert by any means.
