Driving city streets this AM and got the dreaded "dead pedal" syndrome. APPS is dead I'm thinkin. I used the "turn off engine and romp pedal to the floor trick and it worked good enough to get me home, but I don't trust it anymore. Have any of you fellas used the "replacement TPS that Geno's sells. I'm looking to get away from the factory unit since they don't last that long and are prohibited in cost. Thanks in advance for any replies to this post.

Please describe your dead pedal in more detail. Heat soak effect at restart or what symptom?

Get the codes read. What year is it. Later 24Vs will read the codes with on and off three times remaining on the 3RD time. Chris

Thanks to all for the replies and interest. I ordered and recieved the Geno's APPS replacement today and installed it per the instructions (which were excellent) and "voila", problem solved.

So did you have any codes. It would be interesting to know if it was throwing an APPS code. Most box store auto parts will read them for you. What year is the truck? SNOKING

So did you have any codes. It would be interesting to know if it was throwing an APPS code. You can read the codes on your 2002 by turning the key on and off, leaving it on the third time. The little Odometer window on the dash will sequence thru any codes set. It is fairly common to see a P1693, which is basically OK, saying there is a code in the other module.

SNOKING

I ordered a timbo APPS years ago for my 99 and it cured my issues. I believe genos carries the same one. I'm sure I'll experience the dead pedal next bad things come in 3's. (Tappet cover, head gasket)

YUP, Timbo has an excellent replacement solution for APPS replacement - looks like Genos either copied his, or is involved in selling the ones Timbo makes.
