Pretty Excited for 48RE Trans build

Putting deposit on Trans build with TRE Diesel next week. Going with Tim's stage 1 build and Im feeling pretty excited for this since I've been waiting to build the trans for quite some time now. Im hoping to order turbo and injectors with him while I'm there, then tune it with EFI Live. Ill post up results once its all done.

Im looking at getting work done in jan. on my 48re... What parts go into a st1 build? Input? Flex plate? 3disc TC? $4500ish??

promised, yes you are correct.

Had trans done last night and truck feels solid. still getting use to the firm shifts. they do hit a bit harder than i am use to. Engine feels bogged down now because the trans is actually putting power to the ground! I need more power now!

Tim and crew at TRE now the 48re inside and out! give him a shout if you need your trans done.

One thing I have learned to do is back off on the pedal a bit when it's ready to shift it won't bump so hard. You'll get a feel for it. Good Luck

No, im taking mine to BenchTech Trans. here in S.E. PA... Getting to know the guy and so far very understanding of the 48RE and stands behind his work.

I had a few friends whose built 48RE shifted harsher then I would like, once they put traction bars on I could barely feel the shift. A lot of it is axle wrap apparently, I never knew that before.

thats actually good to know. never thought about that before but it makes sense
