I wonder what engineer decided that I had to pay an extra $295 on top of the $745 for the upgraded Uconnect to be able to play a CD?
Then they stick it in a cubby under the center of the seat.
How do I put a Disc in it if I have a passenger in the center?

Before some genius tells me to load my Music on a Flash Drive, how do I do that with a book on cd that I pick up at a truck stop and want to play on the rest of the trip?

I have a 6 CD player in my 2004 and really like it. *Besides that I have lots of CD's. *To get one in the 2014, they would have placed it in one of the rear storage bins in the floor. *And it would hold/play all of one CD at a time. *So I could stop every hour and change the CD. *Yup....lots of thought went into that one. *Played the CD today in the 04. *And again last week while the 14 was back in the shop. *Good thing I held onto the 04 so I would have a truck to use when I need it. *

That's where mine is. But haven't used it yet.

Do me a favor.. Play a CD while you are driving and then attempt to change it for a new one while driving. Can you do it safely?

Sorry. Not going to do that. That's how my girlfriend's former boyfriend ended his life and caused her lifelong damage to her spinal cord.

I checked the box when ordering my LongHorn just for the wife. *32K and I don't think she has played a single CD. *Mine is in the lower part of the console.

Loading your cd collection on a flash drive would be a much better option for you if that is an option for you. My 14 accepts a USB flash drive, an sd card or an aux input through a headphone jack in addition to the CD player. All of those are in the center console, and I've used them all except for the sd card. The uconnect software does a credible job of playing various formats by album, or alphabetically by song title. You can also organize your music collection into playlists or folders and play those. I used a Windows 10 laptop with a cd drive to move my cd collection to a flash drive with the windows media player but there are other ways to do it. If it sounds like more than you want to deal with, just ask around; I'm guessing one of your friends or their kids will be able to help you. Rock on.

You quoted me did you read the quote?

A lot of those trip/guide books also come on a flash drive or SD card. Just ask them. CD players are going the way of the Do Do bird.

Or you could jump on your I phone buy the CD on ITunes and play it on your way via blue tooth! LOL
