Happy Fathers Day 2017

Smoker?

I plan on making a trip next month from Reno, Nevada to Seattle, Washington. I will take 395 to Susanville, then highway 89 to I-5 at Shasta, then I-5 to seattle. For those of you who are familiar with this route can you give me recommendations for good mechanical shops in case I break down. All info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

I can give you a very good shop when you get here (seattle), but not along the way. Shop is called plateau diesel in enumclaw which is just south east of seattle. Ask for Chuck 360 334 6300

There isn't crap along your route until you get to Shasta. Susanville might have a decent shop but I haven't been there since 2011. Once you get on the 5 going north, shouldn't be too hard finding dealer or independent Cummins shop to repairs if needed.

That was going to be my next question, thanks for the info.

I can't say about service shops in Seattle. However make sure that you stop by the Center for Wooden Boats in Lake Union. There is a Brazilian Stake house also in Lake Union (walking distance as I recall) that is well worth the price. and lastly ride the new street car from Lake Union to down town. It's the best way to get around for the price.

Thanks, I'll check those out. I lived in Seattle for about ten years but haven't been there since 2004.
