How can you have a cost that is $240 less than $200? That means the dealer pays you $40 to accept coolant?

To answer your quesrion, go back and read post #30. I rounded $208 to $200, because I was just posting a ballpark figure.

I Don't know if dealers are allowed to charge FCA retail prices. I know the dealers Don't charge FCA as much labor on recalls as they charge customers. That's why the rounding
Dealers don’t get to charge FCA anything. Dealers take what FCA dictates they’ll pay or they get nothing. The paperwork is just verification for the warranty payment. My fat fingers hit the wrong key. $160 As Bob stated, $200 reimbursement for the entire job, not just the coolant.

I believe the $200 was total parts and labor, not just coolant.Recall parts are billed with a scary low price, labor is 1 hour iirc.

Wasn’t $208 for just coolant. That was entire bill . Total bill probably was $280 ish . Reason I can’t give absolute numbers is my copy doesn’t have numbers. The copy I signed had The numbers only got to see it for a moment. Gal at counter said I get a copy so I quit reading the original. My best recollection was 2.5 gal coolant $ ? 1 hr labor neighborhood of just over $100 . The pump was $80 something.
Apparently there’s no clean way to drain coolant?
Lastly after cleaning up the antifreeze that was all over the underside of engine compartment it appears that things are ok , no leaks , hallelujah

I didn't read the whole thread, but wanted to put my info in for consideration. I have heard, but I can't confirm it at this point, that they put a belt on these trucks that is too short. By about an inch. If anyone has there belt off their truck and can measure it that may help with the info here. I was told that the OEM belt is 123.5 inches long, and should be 124.5 inches long. This puts a ton of side tension on the water pump bearings, and once they go away the pump wobbles and hits the side of the block and stops. Belt keeps turning with the rest of the pulleys etc and that is why they say it starts a fire.
This is all hear say, so don't beat me up if you know it is something else that causes the failures. But the theory makes sense to me. And I assume y'all are getting new belts with your new water pumps, so it may have some truth to the rumor.

I got the Cummins water pump from Geno's, Mopar antifreeze from my dealer and replaced my water pump last Saturday. It was a pretty straightforward job, the radiator drain was a bit of a mystery to start with but other than that everything was very smooth.
The major things to keep in mind are:

1) Remove the bolt that holds the power steering reservoir and then push the reservoir under the upper radiator hose, this will open access to the radiator drain. Put a 3/8" hose on the radiator drain barb and let it run to your catch pan, the hex shaped drain actually opens with a 10mm hex bit. 2) Remove the air box lid and place it on the valve cover, remove the lower portion of the airbox with 1 bolt and pull straight up to slide the pins out of the rubber receivers, sit it on the battery. No need to disconnect wiring on either. 3) Release belt with a long handle 1/2" drive ratchet, remove old water pump, Scotchbrite sealing surface, install new water pump. My 2016 2500 has 45,000 miles on it and had some rust in the coolant. Note: BE AWARE that coolants are NOT compatible with others, there are additives in certain coolants what will attach the silicone used in head gaskets, etc. Make you life easy - buy 3 gallons of Mopar 10 year / 150k mile antifreeze concentrate and 3 gallons of distilled water and have fun!

A year ago I took my 2015 in for these flashes.

TSB 08-82-16 ITBM
TSB 08-044-16 RFH RF Hub
TSB 21-004-16 TCM
TSB 05-013-15 ABS
TSB 08-017-17 BCM
TSB 18-037-16 PCM

The Aisin gear hunting on small hills while towing was fixed by one of them. SnoKing

Did you have to pay for flashes? My ******* wants over $400 to flash three of these items on my 2015. If I go downhill, I get shifted to really low gear for some reason. These flashes should be free.

My dealer says flashes/updates are not free after the bumper/bumper 3/36 expires. However, after I was charged for ECM flashes that should have been covered under the Fed emissions warranty, I found out the dealer screwed me by charging me for a flash (labor) that should have been free.

I now am looking for a different dealer service dept. They have lost my business.
As you can see I use the term "My Dealer" somewhat loosely.:-laf

Truck was still in 3/36 warranty and I have Maxcare 120K/8yr extended warranty. They gave me a rental car, and no cost to do the flashes. TH and EB full will try to shift to lower gears to slow the truck down.

Mileage wise I now am beyond 36K and am waiting to a call that they have a water pump for it to do T-51 recall. SnoKing

I have max care, but each flash was less than the deductible.

Had the recalls done on my truck today. They installed the T51 new pump part # CS2HT512-AA + 2 1/2 gallons of 68163849-AB AntiFreeze.

T79 Brake transmission Shift Interlock was a software update, no parts needed. In and out in little more than 2 hours.

I bought my truck brand new in July 2016 and have just 14,000 miles on it.

Thanks for that info been doing a lot of Internet searching and coming up empty.
Thanks again

I did call them, and they said they would order the pump and call me when they had it available. But I will check in with them again. SnoKing

Weird they have to order the pump with a known recall going on. Couple days ago we called four different ram dealers within 100 miles of us and they all have the updated pumps on hand.

Just had my pump done all good. Old Pump was on it's last legs. They had quite a few truck waiting for the pump inspection and replacement.

Perfect! Wife dropped ours off this morning for the water pump, track bar bracket and one other recall I don’t remember. They gave her a new minivan to drive. Will be done tomorrow.

I actually got the 79 recall in the mail. Strange cause I have a G56.
