So glad to see this Kneeling resolution

And Dave, what years were you at Minot? I know you were ahead of me but I was at GFAFB working G models and then B-1B's from 1982 through 1989. Left for Barkatraz (Barksdale). There from 1989 to 1995. Cross trained. Back to Minot from 1995 to 1997. SHAPE, Belgium 1997 to 2000. Back to Minot 2000 to 2002. Thumrait, Oman, May through October 2002 and back to Minot until January 2003. Retired!!! I loved the USAF!!!

Wellllllllllllll Dave. It was kind of a meet and greet festivity :D. Met the staff, Nurse and Doc that will be adding the glow juice. More paper work and a rundown on the sequence of events. I have to go to the VA and have a Lupron ( read lose your manhood eliminates my testosterone ) shot to get the PSA level to .5 or lower before the radiation treatments. They say it could be up to 3 Months before that happens . In the mean time after the Lupron they say I will be moody, lose muscle and be impotent . I am checking out Victoria's site for my new apparel. Anyway I am suppose receive this man killer every 6 Months for 2 1/2 years. Not sure how I will look in a Bikini ( don't want to know). If I get any insight of what goes thru a females mind after I have lost my maleness I will let you guy's know. As for the Minot. I spent most of my time with the 42nd Bomb Wing, Loring AFB, Limestone Maine. About a Month at Lajes Azores with KC-135 missions, 30 seconds in Spain ( land/takeoff with parts). The Daughter is married to a SSGT at Minot and we were visiting last spring/summer/fall up to Dec. 1 when we came back to Az. During my time at Loring we had TDY's to Thule Greenland, Minot ND, Hawaii and Guam. I just did the Azores ferrying fighters. Time frame 19 Nov. 1972 to 19 Nov 1976. I sure loved working the electrical on those B-52's and KC-135's. The Buffs were G's when I arrived and H's when I left. Anyway, I have to go powder my nose. Just practicing. This is going to get ugly.

I enjoy your sense of humor Dave and your brutal honesty is priceless. Keep your head down and get to work. You got this

Dave, now realize they are giving you all the possible bad scenarios. A strong Christian friend Grady had BIG-TIME prostate trouble when he was diagnosed. PSA numbers were above 400 at one time if I remember correctly! He had some other health problems, too. He lived (I mean LIVED!) and enjoyed living and always had a smile on his face. I think he lived 8-10 years after radiation and ongoing hormone therapy. And treatment knowledge has/is expanding. As you go into this new and uncharted territory, my prayer for you is from Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed". Trust Him, and no matter what happens, it will be fine.

Mark31: Words to live by! Thank you! And Dave..... Dave, Dave, Dave,.... Dave! You really are a funny guy! I have to take Prednisone long term once in a while and my bride says it makes me very aggressive while on it and Queen B**** of the Universe when weening off of it. No comparison to you. Just a medication story to share...

Thanks guy's. I do like to find humor in everyday life. Being serious all the time is boring and makes Dave unsociable.
I will remember those words Mark31 and try my best to abide by them.

Rooting for you Dave, my night parts guy fought the same battle and doing well. Still working second shift for me.

I thought he was going to wear out the parts room thermostat from the hot flashes but his description of events sounds a lot like yours.

Always a moody *******, so I couldn't really tell if the hormones made that any worse or not....:D

Mike,
They are going to have me on that stuff for 2 1/2 years. Might have to make a trip to Caribou and sit on a snow bank this coming winter. I see the Wife with those hot flashes and tell her she is off her rocker :D.

Dave

Just had the Man Killer shot Leuprolide. PSA check in 2 Months. It has to be .5 or lower to start radiation. The male nurse said the biggest complaint is night sweats ( great place to be in Phoenix huh ). I asked if this limp deal goes away after treatment, the answer was SOMETIMES. I may have to find the guy with a mustache, beard and flute thing. I will check Amazon for a basket. :D

So what did you biopsy show? What was your gleason number? I have had PC since 2014, and am a gleason 6. The VA has me at 100% because of Agent Orange and I am on an active survalance program. Every 90 days I get test with a PSA and my blood tests.

Biopsy done from several sections of dark shades of the ultrasound and came back positive for Cancer. Their Gleason Numbers G4+4 which put me near High risk. They still use the old style Gleason which then needs to be translated to the new style they use today to give one number. I was going to have the surgery ( not that I liked it ) but the MRI came back showing the Cancer has spread outside of the prostate. The bone scan came back clean. The highest PSA was 16.9 the latest 12.2. So that is where I am right now. Waitlng to be a glow worm.

I had a higher than normal psa number a few years ago. When I went for the biopsy they put me in a dark room with soft music. The only things missing were flowers and bottle of champagne. That scared me worse than the procedure. It all worked out well. The doctor was a nice young fellow with small hands. A prayer for your satisfactory outcome has been sent.
