I have been trying to get mine replaced while here in Pahrump NV, but they keep claiming they can't get any pumps in, so in another week we will leave for Alaska and hope all is well. It has lasted for 73000 miles so far so guess a few more won't hurt.

Seems that is the common story that I have heard now from two different dealers. Maybe call ahead to some dealers, I have dealt with a couple, one in Tremonton, Ut, but got the same story from them ,no pumps , on the waiting list. Another one in Idaho Falls, Id. Have had work done by both ,great to deal with.

Might get lucky being from out of town, who knows .

Wow, mine was so easy through Karl Malone in Heber. I called, they said they needed to inspect it first, then they would be allowed to order a pump specifically for me. I stopped by after work, a tech came out and looked under the hood really quick, ordered it, it came in a couple days later and made an appointment for 4:00 pm and I picked it up at 5:30.

Kthaxton, you and I are going to become buddies ;) I know don't go that far. Just called Karl Malone in Heber, talked to Roberto in service, they will replace the pump in the morning. He said they had two pumps ,guys didn't show yet, so they will order another one, and do mine. I was going to Heber, on the way to Strawberry anyway.

Sorry man, I cannot be friends with anyone that uses a different oil than me. ;)

But I did use Synthetic :p Thanks on mentioning the dealership you used. Its been pretty crazy with the one here, just dealing with them. It was refreshing to talk to a service department with some decent customer service people. Thanks again.

I haven't had a new recall in a few months, so I decided to see the dealer on Monday and schedule the recalls:
-Waterpump
-Rollover airbag
-Brake/shift interlock
-SCR catalyst/ammonia sensor.

The service manager scheduled me for today, Wed, and assured me I'd have a loaner.

So I got there at 9am this morning, and they gave me a new Ram 1500 for a loaner. He called about 1:00 and said the recalls were done. I got there an hour or so later and picked up the truck. Yes, they replaced the waterpump, did the other recalls, and updated the ECM software to the latest version (He said it's the same software the new 2018's have). I checked the coolant when I got home, and it was filled properly. No messes, coolant all over the engine, or any other problems.

I just wanted to post an excellent service experience, because it seems all I read in this thread are bad experiences, and I'm sure many are like mine, but nobody takes the time to post about them.

So what is the name of this dealer?
Might go there if only 500 miles [emoji4]

I'm telling you guys demand a gallon to take home!!! They did mine by the book but I still added 5/8 gallon of the 3/4 they gave me.

Well, I didn't demand a gallon to take with me, and the replacement took exactly 50 minutes, stood right there ,and watched the young gentlemen replace the pump by the BOOK, and continued on my trip up fishing, and back home the next day approximately 120 miles, still on the full mark. Must of used a different BOOK on mine. ;)

Pulled into Karl Malone's service at 8:50 am , was standing at the door of Reams, waiting for the girl to open the door at 10:00 am to buy some levi's. The pump took 50 minutes. What an awesome service department.

For what its worth , Strawberry fished fished very well. :D
