I ordered the set of Toyo's last night. They'll be here Friday.

I like your choice, unless I get more miles out of the Toyo's then I think I will, I just may give those Coopers a shot next time just to see the difference. IMO they are all pretty good tires.

AWESOME! Over the years I have found it takes some miles and time to get the air pressure "dialed in" when making a change to different tires, even from the same manufacturer. And the 45 day, 500 mile test drive will give you adequate time to work with the Toyos.
Let us know how the tires work for you.....

Well then those 100k street tires are the ones for you , but you will get stuck on wet grass

Not the defenders! Yes some other Michelins were lousy for wet conditions. I would not say the Defenders are a true off road tire but they really grip the wet road.

Toyos came on my last 2wd 98 and were worn out in less than 40k, they were all season. Also they were Made in China.

I was VERY impressed with the BFG 3rd gen takeoffs.

These had 40k when I installed on my last 2wd 98 and now have over 80k in this pic. sold truck to a friends Son.

Pic of the BFG's. Now I think of it closer to 100k.

I had the Coopers installed and aired up to 80 front and 65 rear on the duals. Hit the corners at speed on the way home and holy crap. I almost wrecked the truck due to tread squirm. The squirm was extreme. The rear started coming around and when i tried to adjust slightly the front started swaying. This was the first time i have ever had tread squirm on new tires. It was less every day and by 500 miles there is absolutely none. With 65 psi rear only the 2” centers were touching the ground. I used chalk to get the tread perfectly contacting the ground by letting air out each day. They finally touched evenly at 35 psi.
My Nexens wore bad in the front. Tore up the outer edge. I did not do an alignment and so far the new tires are wearing evenly. I always suspected the tires contributed to poor wear with all the corners i take. The truck was too heavy for the Nexens in the front. I ended breaking belts in every tire that was on the front until the truck was on jack stands in the yard while i went for tires.

I know you insist on these tires, read it before. There are some that want a true All Terrain tire or even mudders, and have no use ,and TRAMPLINEMAN said it best , pavement princess tires you want for the garage queen trucks .

I need ,and apparently so does the OP a tire that goes in the mud, snow etc, those pavement princess tires do not. Plus you drive a dually, no business too far off the pavement.

I always ran OE A/S tires until I got the AT KO’s. I wasn’t running hiway like I had, but I wanted a killer snow tire, and I got it. I have some cupping up front, gotta rotate soon, and there’s the hummm. But I’m getting back on the hiway, so I’m looking for rims to make a second set, and i think I’ll be getting cheap uniroyal ribbed hiway runners I saw on bjs site.

I had Michelins on a past 3500 2012 LML. They did ok but could not get off the pavement. Those Michelins also liked to dry out and look bad two years in. They also had a bad tendency to get sliced up by the granite and quartz we have here. The Nexens were also prone to this type of damage but ultimately failed when four of the seven broke belts after spending time on the front axle. I looked for a tire that could resist this type of damage. So far the Coopers are looking good but the miles on them are too low to know for sure. Some ranchers put me onto them because they have had good luck. We will see.

Having never run Coopers, will most likely give them a shot next time around. Heard good things about them. I would never push a Michelin tire after having a couple sets, and definitely not an off road one, if they even make one. Their AT2 looks like a highway tread. ;)

i had better luck / wear with the toyo open country 2 vs bfg. my bfgs were very worn at 12k. keep in mind i live way up a mountain at 9400 feet. lots of turns and ups and downs. cheers!

New Toyo's have been on a week now. What little I've driven the truck, I think they'll be fine. I like the look of the sidewalls over the raised white letters on the BFG's I had. Net price for the tires and install was $590.00. I sold the used BFG's on Craigslist and that offset the price.

A lot of guys run Toyo AT2 Extreme, myself included. They are great tires. I’ve also heard good things about the Goodyear Duratrac. I may try those next time. I need a decent off-road tire as my rig actually goes camping with me in the boonies.
