How Long Did You Wait For That Special Ordered Ram?

Curious how long some of you waited to receive your ordered Ram truck. I placed an order on March 26th, 2018 for a Ram 3500 with an Aisin. Was given a price and told delivery should be in 8-10 weeks. Truck was built June 5th and is still in transit. Has been sitting in a holding yard in Roper, Ut. since June 21st. Next week will be 15th week.

I waited 4 & 1/2 months (approximately 20 weeks) to get my 1999 that I'm still driving. It's worth the wait!

Thanks for the, “congrats on the new truck”. I had a special order 03 Dodge 3500 that I recently sold. Back in 03 it took about eight weeks to arrive.

Wow, a month from Roper. I might be looking at another two weeks in that case. How rare, a salesman would lie about delivery times.

Salesman didn't entirely lie about the time. Sitting in holding yards is a result of the continuing rail-car and trucker shortages. This has been a problem for the auto industry since before the recession ten years ago. When everything in the freight pipeline is running right, Rams can be delivered quite quickly. My 05 was ordered Saturday, January 15 2005. Because of MLK Day, the ordered wasn't accepted until Tuesday the 19th. Truck was completed February 2 in Saltillo and arrived at my dealer Friday March 4 - one day short of 7 weeks from when I was at the dealer here in NJ to order it. I inspected it Saturday the 5th and took delivery Tuesday the 8th. Delivery time estimates are based on factory production schedules, option availability, and *no* freight delays.

I ordered mine two weeks ago and was told it would be 8 to 10 weeks till it comes in.
I ordered my 1996 in early January 1996 and got it in early April.

Got the call yesterday that my truck had finally arrived. I too had been promised 8-10 weeks for delivery which ultimately became 15 weeks. I’m sure driving a new truck will erase the long wait memory.

I ordered our 2018 RAM 3500 mid August 2017 and took delivery Mid October 2017, 8 weeks from order to delivery. Awesome truck !!!
