Well, how about that, I dropped the truck off this morning, and just picked it up with a functional switch again. The recall/flash messed up the option code somehow. I guess mother Mopar told them how to unravel it.

Usually available on Amazon.com They come in 1, 3/4, and 1/2hp, continuous duty, and are much more affordable than other options. I've installed several sets, and they can be ordered with/without tanks. They are pretty tough.... I run my train horns off these, too. The 3/4hp will air up a 3gl tank in 2.6 minutes to 120psi. One compressor has several hundred hours on it, and shows no signs of quitting.

Ozy spent three days trying to talk me into mounting mine in the same place. Gotta' pop the Left Hand liner out and have a look this weekend.....

I really like that... and if you do it on the right side, you could plumb the air intake into the trucks filter. I'm not sure my larger Puma will fit in there, though. I've got to put a fender on an '05; that would be a great time to see if it would fit....

I've had an Airlift 5000 self-leveling airbag kit on my truck for 9 yrs, and it's done superbly. It, along with the one-piece driveshaft and 19.5 inch tires, improved my heavy-weight towing comfort/confidence 100% from the stock level.

Pulled LH fender liner this afternoon and started the install. Rained most of the day so had a late afternoon start.
Rigged up some mounts and temporarily mounted the Viair Bracket. Slid compressor into place, lack a 1/2” of clearance...... Crap...
My fender is shaped a bit differently than Ozy’s and it makes things really tight. It will fit but just barely...
I am considering removing the fender, it’s only 9 bolts. Then I wouldn’t be leaning backwards over the front hub..

Will get pictures tomorrow.

I think it's 1/4" of play at the end at the compressors head.
A swiss watch is tighter built.

I think I am going to get the portable version to tote around when traveling. The ARB comes in a hard case, but is more money for <100% duty cycle.

I ended up with the Viair 450(?)kit. I used it to air up in the hotel parking lot, and it was quicker than I expected.

As to the 7500 bags, the remote makes it convenient to stand back and add air, and eyeball the truck/trailer stance. With 30 pounds in the bags the truck was leveled out and rode great.

Mike I'm surprised you're not using a York or Tecumseh or a newer style off a Freightliner. I don't know if you remember but I had a York A/C compressor on my 03. It was belt driven and made by a company called Kilby. It mounted above the alt and was belt driven. https://www.cuoffroad.com/product-lines/complete-airboss-kits/dodge-airboss-kits/ It's not cheap but it sure was nice.

Mike, I didn't think we were supposed to still be that flexible in our old(er) age!! I was drilling a fender on my Jeep a few weeks back to clear the bumper brackets I was making, and I had bruises that looked like the caliper ran over me down my back... my wife wondered what I had been doing!

I had an old Mopar V-twin compressor on an old 440RB motor in a dually I used to have back in the day.... it built air like a champ, even at an idle. You knew when it was about to blow off, as it started pulling the engine down, which, with the cam I had in it, didn't idle very fast...
