On my 2014 I had a 20” led light bar in the bumper and also had it tied in with a relay to the high beams as well, but I had a toggle switch on that one so that I could control when it was able to come on automatically with the high beams. I only turned on that toggle switch if I was really out in the boonies or off-road this way if I was caught off guard with someone coming I just had to dim the lights and they’d go off as well rather than fumbling around to shut them down.
If you do do multiply relays like this, I’d suggest getting the high beam feed from the other headlight just so that you don’t draw too much “extra” current off the OEM high beam circuit on one side.
gotcha seafish, Id missed your previous post, sorry. I like that idea with the switch except that my sausage fingers may struggle with the small parts as Bobv suggested. I'll have to take minute and mull this over
Ive never understood why either, I mean if you go to high beams you want LIGHT! why turn off 2/3 of the light sources? Ii have upgraded the headlight bulbs but not to HID yet. I have a lightbar to add too but I need to build the mount for it as I want it bumper height vice above the windshield.
I can imagine that there is a bit of blindness when you go from all six to just the two low beams. I remember when I had a pair of 6x9 aux lights on my 01, going back to just the low beams for oncoming traffic was light turning off all the lights...
thanks!
While I dont fully agree with this I was told its because when you use high beams the goal is to see further and having the fog lights on creates a bright spot in front of the truck making it harder to see distance, essentially it distracts your eyes if there is too much light up close and you end up not seeing as far.
In terms of blindness when going back to low beams I find having amber film on my led lights, tied into my brights through an on/off/on switch, makes it much easier to see when the led lights are on and when going back to low beams, just easier on my eyes all around.

Connect as follows:
86- to one of the high beam feeds behind the headlight
87-to each + fog light feed behind bumper
30-to battery, fused at 15amps
85-ground
Geno’s has good waterproof relays that I use on my trucks.
