Train Horn Question

I'd be concerned about pointing them forward at that low of a mount. they could/will fill up with road debris and ice etc. That's why I've pointed mine downwards.

That's what i thought initally but it rained the other day, like poured and the underside of the truck was bone dry. I assumed the area down there was pretty safe from elements. Here's the horns on a bracket i made fashioned from the original bracket.

Do I really need a spare anyway with 35" tires?

I wasn't sure if I'd be able to use a factory spare with 35" tires on the other 3 sides. It was an actual point of question since I really don't know the answer to that lol

I would say that SOME type of spare is better than NO spare

That spot might be a bit regretable when you go to service the transmission.
If you are in snow country, I wonder how blowing snow might be an issue?

I placed mine facing down and if I was going to face fed or rear it would definitely be rear due to the debris kicked up. You get a little water in there the baffles won’t work properly.... you could find those caps that go on the bells.

I'm in Dallas so snow won't be much issue. I do see your point about transmission service but the horns are fairly easily removable. pics coming

Do you really mounted the airtank to the body AND the frame?
Im not so sure that this is ok.

That's how I had my tank mounted on my previous Ram for the last 4 years. No issues.

On my '03, I mounted them (Nathan K3-LA) sort of above the driveshaft between the fuel tank and the frame rail. Compressor tank was under front right corner of the box, (had to trim a little bit) and I mounted a valve in the floor console next to the shifter. Haven't looked under the new truck much yet, but it looks like less space with all the exhaust stuff tucked in there.
