Looks like you still have to take loose one end to make adjustments hard to tell , wonder if it will fit on 2018

So basically, there's an actual part that can be replaced?!? WOW! I'm pissed off at FCA. Weld my truck and make an adjustment a PITA instead of replacing the part.

I want them to replace the whole part! Not weld some BS on mine.

They will never get the chance on mine, at least the welding part. Its either a new part, no welding or nothing at all. Mine has NEVER come loose. Its a simple thing to check. Hopefully they will come to their senses, it wishful thinking I know .

I will post the Pictures Before and after of My New FCA Drag Link on My 2013......with the work order of NO charge.

2014 Thier's a Big difference between Repairs performed and (Repair Description)

Its Not likely FCA will be welding on anyone's vehicle That does NOT GIVE approval for the repair.

if you copy and paste this part number (68338342AB) in a search engine. There's a pdf file that states that part can be used on a 2014-2017 2500 or 2013-2017 3500.

The original part number is 68369907AA. The replacement part number is 68338342AB and features a more robust clamp style feature

I guess this is basically what I am saying, no they won't get permission if its welding they are doing .

So they have replaced your drag link on your 2013 ??? Is this from the recall ??

Yes......The R46 was the same way and in the end it was a well designed Bracket.

Welding brings on all Kinds of liability possibilities. once you mention that its a New Drag Link for Ya......

You are not going to get the 68338342AB part as there is an order block on it, just like there is on the V06 recall part. There are still no parts or repair procedures out for the 13-16 trucks.

And you are not going to talk the dealer into just replacing it as the parts have to be ordered by STAR including the dimensions, and there is a parts return for analysis. The dealer is only going to get stung once for this, and they will learn quickly.

Also they have been welding them since last week when the recall was issued. All stock trucks are done so anyone buying an 18 already has the recall completed, most likely by welding.

I don't get it. If the drag link really can separate, this is a pretty major safety issue. I would think the older trucks are far more likely to separate, with a lot more miles and use on them. I would think plow trucks would be more likely. Yet FCA is starting with the '17 and '18 trucks?

I've heard differing opinions...even if they replace the drag link on my 2018 they are still going to weld the nuts?

Thanks! Where is this from?

Sounds similar to the state inspection manual for the state of VA.

Update:
Just checked and nothing is stated regarding welding a suspension or steering component.

Nothing specific...I'm not an expert in interpreting the wording...Steering system would include the drag link. I would be safe in saying ,civilly could mean trouble.
