I just used my last pail of Chevron Delo 400 15w-40 CI-4+ ! Now what oil do I use for my next oil change?
Does any oil company still sell a CI oil ? Thanks
The C stands for compression ignition, the I is the generation of oil. All the new standards are supposed to be backwards compatible with older engines. So an engine that specifies ci-4 can run cj or ck oil.
Here is a link to the api website that explains there classifications.

What’s important aside from the API rating is the Cummins rating of CES20081, which I believe is equivelant to CJ-4, not CK.
Its on the shelf at Walmart, and it wasn’t expensive.
John, can you link that bulletin? I’d like to check it out.
So do I, but which one? There’s like 3 different ones now, right?I loves me some Rotella...
Yes, I have found the 5W40 T6 Syn still stinks when freshly changed!I haven't used Rotella in years. Does it still stink when freshly changed?
Been using this.

I never use that "high mileage" stuff in my engines because as I understand, it contains additives which cause the seals to swell which helps prevent leaking. Trouble is that it causes the seals to wear more rapidly and will allow easier leaking if that product isnt continually used. Again...thats how I understand the high mileage oils work.
Agreed- with “S” oil, but I believe this stuff is targeted towards older pre DPF engines, and if it carries the CES rating, it’s good by me.
