My BIL mentioned yesterday he's changing oil on my former 03 Ram 2500 twice a year. runs 15W-40 Mystic in the Summer and 10W30 in the winter. He mentioned the Cummins generators he works on are heavily sooted, but I explained the duty cycles are not comparable. I asked him if he did oil analysis on the truck, and he said no. What are you going to do?
Well we really don't have winter down here and I had run Mobil 1 5W-40 from first oil change to 15 years later ever 10K miles, no time limit, and got perfect oil analysis. Its their truck now, so got to ignore what he's doing.
Anyhoo, just making a point how many people see the same thing differently.
