Finally made it around to Cummins

Tire pressure does make a big difference. These trucks ride quite well considering what they are built to do.

Based on what my truck scales empty and tire pressure charts the tires only need 35 psi empty. I usually run them around 40-45 thou, just because I often haul stuff.

Yes if I can go that low with a SRW that would not bother me a bit.

The exhaust brake really works very well I put in tow haul mode and I barely have to use the brakes remember it has the aisin transmission.

On LT285/60R20 tires 35 psi is good for 2020lbs, or 4040lbs on the rear axle.

My RAW is 3300lbs with an empty truck and a king bed.

Hey Stewart,

Thought it would be a benefit for the TDR members following this thread to summarize the trucks you've driven by equipment level (Laramie, Limited), transmission (68RFE/Aisin), SRW/DRW, Air Assist/Reg Suspension, tire pressures, and colors. There's too much info to assimilate reading through this thread. Looks like you may have been on as many as 7 to 9 test drives, sometimes the same truck?

Anyway, thanks for sharing and pulling all you info into one post.

Cheers, Ron

I have only been in one air ride truck and its the one I will be buying its a SRW Limited with the 373 and Aisin transmission in my opinion the Duallys ride much better but since I took the advice from here and put the rear tires down to 49psi it made such a profound difference that I would not really consider SULASTIC SHACKLES TO SMOOTH OUT THE RIDE.

Hey guys first post and a dumb question I am about to order a 2019 3500 limited dually.

I drove four 3500 trucks and one single rear wheel 3500 am I crazy or does it seem like the air ride trucks drive really rough and I mean rough????????
I am also buying a Jayco 377RLBH fifth wheel camper with a pin weight of 2800 and a overall weight of 14000.

And yes I am getting the AISIN transmission AND 410 GEARING LOL.

Please give me a call to advise me guys
I just by the seat of the pants seem to feel the air truck rides bad especiallly in the single rear wheel 3500.

Sorry, my bad... I got confused. I thought these 5 were air ride and the ones you drove in subsequent posts. I lost track on the back and forth SRW, DRW, SRW.

Just thought you accumulated several test drives and could summarize.

Anyway, looks like you've finalized again what your getting. Let us know when you order it and take delivery.

Cheers, Ron

yes I understand completely I understand yes it's been a long drawn-out decision I've been dreaming about a truck like this for 20 years guy so forgive my ignorance and some of the matter is but wish me well wish me mell and a prayer to believe it receive it all right guys sorry to be a pain in the butt but I've also mention this warm to others to come and check it out cuz everybody's so friendly let's keep to that image guys friendly form friendly form friendly form all right guys have a great day bye it's 99° here in Danville Virginia today boy it's a sculpture it says it's a really hot day bye.

Ok drove the Limited Truck again today and let me say it kicks butt.

I hope to be paying for it on the first of the month next week but the high tech stuff really works and apply s the brakes when in Cruise Control.
Looks like I put at least 30 miles on it today and a guy on the bypass near me hit his brakes when we were doing 70 MPH and wham the Ram slowed down and used the exhaust brake all at the same time without any input from me.

I really could save ten grand by going for a basic truck but man this Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop Full–Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus rocks but I am going to have to be cautious to not get very used to it.

Like i said, have it once and you'll never again buy a vehicle without it.

Well the wife said 14 grand saved is 14 grand earned lol looks like I am going to have to set the mirrors up just the way I like them.
Here is the truck we are buying its a basic truck but can hold six people its a good truck but plain.
They will have to put in the B and W 1320 turnoverball gooseneck hitch and the seven pin connector the rear of the pickup bed on the left side but all said and done its way better then my two 3500 from the 90s.
