Well you were jinxed for taking so DAMN long to decide on a truck.

I have not heard of a bag leaking on these trucks.

Hope you get it fixed soon!

Did it throw a code? Or air suspension warning?

The system can't self fill, so I am surprised to took that long to find the leak... unless it's not leaking at the lower pressure when empty.

First leak I have heard of as well.

Can you elaborate on that? My dumb mind can’t follow what you’re trying to say.

I mean, it has an onboard air compressor. What am I missing?

According to the literature I've read the system will only allow so much air to be pumped, must be a time limit?

All repairs require the system to be filled after the repair, or the system won't work properly. It is an open system, but for some reason it's not setup to self fill if the pressure in the bags and air tank is 0... which is indeed interesting.

We do know that we can set the bags to 0 psi with the transport mode, but the tank is still pressurized.

One of these days I'll buy the FSM and see what it says.

EDIT: I'm trying to find the reference again. I know I've read it a couple time, and it deals with repairs on the system.

I did find a guy who said his tank on his 2500 refilled itself after about 2 weeks of driving. Maybe it's just slow to do so?

Now I'm even more curious.

The tech at the dealership said it was leaking bad on the Left airbag and it would not return to normal ride height its the first time they have seen a bad airbag on a 19 and mine is the first HO 19 at that.

THAT IS WITH THE 3000 POUND PIN WEIGHT.

I hate to inform you guys we got a big problem with the dually guess what the left airbag is leaking we hooked up to the brand new jayco northpoint 377rlbh today and everything went good and the Anderson was good and everything was super-duper nice only problem was it wasn't leveling out and we found out that the left airbag was leaking so now we going to have to wait out for 5 days for the Dodge dealership to install the new airbag on the left side and hopefully that will take care of the problem and they're all because it's such a new truck this is definitely not usual so I'm out of the truck for five days isn't that nice.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your new truck. Hopefully the airbag replacement will fix it .

Being dead in the water because of an air bag that leaks is not a good thing.

I am thinking I like my aftermarket air bags more ,and more as time goes on. Just the fact you have no control over the OEM system would give me pause. Having aftermarket that I can control not only the air pressure on the fly, I have at times improved the ride as well on some road conditions towing the fifth wheel.

That post is completely contradictory. I know the OP didn’t write it, but it (the excerpt from the manual) first says it’s an open system but then says it can’t fill itself and must be filled with nitrogen if a component was replaced. Huh? Either it’s open or it’s not. No mention of a timer. The OM does talk about protecting itself, but doesn’t elaborate.

This is more confusing than one would think....

The bags on mine say Firestone right on them.

My first set of airbags aftermarket were the Firestone , had a pin hole in one right out of the box, it was replaced no issues there. I could hear it as soon as I inflated it .The set I have on my 2014 is Airlift, and no problems with them after 5years. Nor the Airlift compressor.

All these modes for the air suspension in the infotainment system basically just turn the air off. As soon as you move the vehicle, it becomes active again. Again, no real elaborating in the owner’s manual at all. The trailer connection is even vague.

I’ve never heard my compressor run or anything make any adjustments. The ALT button does absolutely nothing, but I’ve also not had any real weight in the bed or hitched a trailer yet.

All I can assume is that everything is ok and working as designed. I just wish I knew how it worked a little clearer.

I hope my earlier posts weren’t taken the wrong way. I’m certainly not arguing or anything, just trying to wrap my head around something that, in theory, should be very simple....

Yeah, I think there are too many modes. It appears that tire jacking and alignment modes are the same, and transport just removes all the air.

For trailer connection just leave it idle while you hook/unhook. The system will adjust as required and it's much easier to hook/unhook that traditional springs or airbags. This works well for me with both bumper pull and 5th wheels.

I can hear mine adjust as needed, both with the compressor running and air moving into/out of the bags. I also hear a air pressure purge every time I start and drive the truck, it usually happens within 200' of driving.

ALT only works on my truck with about 700lbs of payload. Does it tell you that your payload is too light?

Having come from my 05 with airbags (Firestones too, 11 years of flawless service and 0 leaks), I am very satisfied with the operation of the OEM system.

I’ve never heard this. Ever. Perfectly silent.

I can’t recall if it tells me load is too light. It’s been a minute since I’ve tried Alt.
