Hey fellas, I'm new here...

First off, mine is a 2013 240k hotshot truck. Pull 20k on a daily basis.

Truck is bone stock but has been stealth deleted with very mild tune.

Not sure what is going on but my exhaust brake is not working and has not worked real well since I bought it used (50k) the truck still runs great and have no CEL at all. I'm guessing stuck actuator but every where I've looked people are throwing codes... which mine is not.

Any help is appreciated!

It’s not stock. It’s been deleted and tuned. What tune? Can you return to stock to check ex brake operation. You wouldn’t be the first one who lost their ex brake through tuning.

Very interesting, I'm going my call my guy tomorrow. It's a tune that's is just burned into ecm, no switches or boxes. I have a edge insight and vgt % stays at 0%....

Starting to make sense..

Thanks!

Honestly, it sounds like a tuning issue. I would also check that your turbo is still working correctly. Unplug the actuator at the turbo and see if the truck changes tone and behavior. I know when mine went out truck drove fine minus the eb while the actuator unplugged. Only worked correctly when I loaded up a trailer and towed with it cause I guess the turbo was getting hot enough to free up the sliding rings.

If your going to replace the turbo and keep hotshotting, go with either the s464 or s465 turbo with 1.0ar. It handles really well empty driving and has fantastic towing manners. My s465 is the 2.5 class approved turbo and its an animal.

Thanks for the insight brother!

If not already, try unplugging the EGR valve. For reasons unknown, there have been many reports of the EB not working properly with certain tuners if the EGR wiring is not disconnected

That I could understand!!!! Never thought about that.

I made my own dummy connectors and delete plates when I did my deletes before my h&s intake horn and 2nd gen swap.

Also, gb1k, if your looking to keep the eb when looking at new turbos. Check out the fleece cheetah. Buddy has it and wish I would have gone that route but my 465 still pulls harder and faster than his truck lol.

It should not be at 0%, and I've never seen mine at 0%. Normally 60-80% is where it lives for driving and 94-100% for exhaust brake. It's always moving.

Without a CEL I would suspect the tune.

How does it drive? With the VGT at 0% I can't imagine it builds much, if any, boost.
