Log in to the MVP link above and see what they charge you. Then go to the dealer to see if they can beat it for Maxcare.

@BRBoling
I’d look reallllllly hard into that third party warranty.

As a possible example.....

Alternator fails?
Warranty only pays their preset price of $295 on your $375 alternator. You pay the difference...

Labor calls for 2.5 hours? They think 2.0 hours is enough. You pay the .5 hour difference....

Labor rate is $115/hour? They think $85/hour is enough. You pay the $30/hour difference...

Sales tax? Maybe the warranty company pays it...maybe they won’t.

You have to utilize the instant quote. Then all the deductible and pricing will pop up. I agree with others that a third party warranty is a gamble. I know the last couple trucks I purchased the dealers were trying to sell a third party over the manufacturer warranty. I know they have incentives with the third party warranties they try to push.

My dealer would not match the Chrysler Direct warranty.

You don't need to buy this from your local dealer so just shop the MaxCare from the larger dealers on line that don't care about the up sale and make the $ on the volume of warranties sold.

No reason to try to make anyone match anything that's a waste of time, whoever quoted the 3rd party already showed their cards and pushed that turd on to you, would go else where.

My GM extended warranty the finance guy said he gets pretty much a flat fee for the warranty and he could care less how many years and miles I wanted, he gave me a nice chart, and it was in line with a bunch of On Line. Maybe it helps I got 6 vehicles from them this year who knows. I price checked it on a GM forum before pulling the trigger, as there is no pressure to buy at time of delivery.

I have the Mopar extended warranty for my 18- 2500 6.4, dont remember the cost but again was in line and I priced checked online and on some posts.

Good luck and try to read the fine print if possible.

Not really. Seems I paid $2,500 or so for mine.
Notice “I” have 7/100 not 7/120 like most.

I thought most had 8 yrs/120?. I had 7/70 for $1800. Four $100 deductibles brings that to $2200.

Edit/Correction: it was three $100 deductibles because one was covered completely under emissions warranty.

Total$2100

Have max care on our 2015 ecodiesel. 8/120. Its been the best investment ever! Just cashed a 1k trip interruption check

1 month ago bought a new 2018 CTD. Got the 8/125. Folks, its a no brainer. I tow heavy and out west. Life is short, diesel techs are getting very hard to find. Parts can be thousands.

I wouldn't own a modern diesel without max care.

Our 8/125 with 200 deductible was around 2850 for 2018 2500 CTD.

But I got it in the deal. It was an orphan, Laramie, 4x2 and going into its second winter sitting in Michigan.. Error ordering it by dealer. Got it to Cali, that's it winter home.

Holy smokes:eek:....These have really gone up in the last couple of years....and with your connections to boot....

FCA does not hide the fact that if you buy the warranty closer to the end of the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty, it will cost a bit more.

But yes, of course, the price of the trucks has gone up and the price of the extended warranty has also gone up.

That $3230 max care for 7/125 with $100 deductible is just $400 less than double the $1800 that my 7/70. ($100 deductible) cost 4 months into ownership.

I have 63,600 miles on the clock. It needs a fix of the windsheild washer that will be done soon. I expect the warranty to expire with miles a few months before the 7 years runs out. It also needs the tailgate recall completed. Just haven't had time to get it in for the fix.

Edit: Do i think $3200 is too much for an extended warrranty? No. Mine has saved me about twice that much.

Actually, what I was referring to is if you dig up a max care warrant thread from a couple of years ago, these warranties were down in the $2000 neighborhood....They have really run the price up.

You are correct. As my maxcare expires, i'm going to leave more of a cushion in my bank account by putting a bit less in my retirement accounts. dealer repairs are not getting any cheaper. Hoping i don't have to delete
