You’re beginning to sound like Stuart......are y’all twins?Curious is this covered under my 7/100 MaxCare warranty?

You guys do realize the part Geno's is selling is JUST the shell. While this is the part that commonly fails there are also moving parts in the rest of the housing. Moving parts wear plain and simple.
So there are now apparently two choices.
One, what has been available, the entire actuator assembly from Cummins for $320
Two, the electronics shell for $900. Literally half a component for 3 times the price.
Why are we still having this conversation again?![]()
ANDDDddddddd, CUMMINS has come out with ANOTHER updated Actuator.
5601240NX, and they're back up to well over $1K....
Not trying to incite a riot, but you better grab you a 5494878RX if you can.

Ron, I Know you are on the same page as evidenced by your earlier post....no offense to you.
This whole bit about being "stronger" than the OEM Holset unit has me scratching my head. You can literally move your turbo vanes back and forth with one finger when actuator is removed on a functional turbo. Extra horsepower not needed. Me thinks it's either a sales gimmick, or they really did crank up the torque but what are the consequences? Ruining a turbo? I rely on Holset over aftermarket on what is practical....but that's just me.
Are you referring to the half shell?
I haven't looked into it any further than the price. Literally half the component for three times the price.
If you replace the entire actuator assembly I'm pretty certain it must be calibrated.
You have some serious issues. Try explaining the differences for everyone and why one needs calibrating and the other doesn't. And when your done, for the love of God find something better to do.Here we go again. Does it slip on?
I refer you to post 13 then 17. Your more concerned with being right than helpful. Same as the rotor post.
As for explanations? Everyone knows how it works.
Okay so what happened to the OP?
I will admit, I know very little about this actuator, and the reason I am asking questions. I hope I don't need to know any further, but its looks like its a problem child.
I see some of these reman's are plug ,and play, so I am curious does that mean they are calibrated ?? I don't see the plug ,and play mentioned on the one you referenced . The other ones I looked at were not too much more in cost, but they were plug ,and play.
It appears JR is referencing the electronic part, its called an actuator kit, so although I did not see plug ,and play , I would guess it is, and requires no calibration ??? Just trying to understand these turbo, and actuator issues, if a problem happens.
