So, fuel pump calibration is an ECM thing, not a fuel pump thing. I haven't looked close, but I'll bet there are electronics in the fuel pump too.

I was told by the "LADY" at the Cummins plant that at that time ALL 6.7's were the same except for paint color and programming. No idea if that was true at the time!

Looking forward to seeing additional differences if you have the urge to dig a little deeper, John.

I didn’t know there was injector differences.

Based on what you see being different with the duration tables and rail pressures......do you think the Cab & Chassis trucks may not be as “de-tuned” as one would think?

Being wrong as often as I am, I'm not ashamed to go further and be REAL wrong. With the lower in the the RPM range, I'm think'n the C&Cs were designed to operate heavy full time and operate 55 to 70MPH. My sweet spot is 65MPH, 2173 RPM. But still interesting Cummins changed cam, injectors, other stuff, instead of just a little detuning of the HO motor. Actually, it would be nice if Ram offered HP/TQ options with the C&Cs, although numbers aren't much different than the 9.0L 350HP/1150 TQ. I know, two different animals, but close performance and big cost differences.

Not sure I'm making any breaking news statement here, but is interesting hearing all these facts.

Cheers, Ron

Very interesting!

GS I know your trucks have had different gearing but since you tow the same type of loads over and over again what truck feels like it has or had more pulling power?

It’s been a while since I’d owned the 2014 3500 (385*850) (actually going on two years this month) but I can’t really say that I’ve ever been underpowered with the Cab & Chassis. I can say this.....there’s been a few hauls that I would have turned down with the 3500 on a more frequent basis, simply due to pin weight and rear axle capacity and tire capacity.

Long answer short....the 3500 may have felt like it had more pulling power on more tame loads....but the 4500 offers a better, overall, more enjoyable towing experience with the HEAVY stuff.

I was instructed by the shop to check in Monday, February 3rd, and verify my actuator had shipped. The shop still had not received a tracking number.

I called back again on Tuesday....and still no tracking number. By this time, I had pieced together a run from Bristol, IN to Adairsville, GA, so my Thursday installation was going to require a reschedule.

I called again on Thursday, got an answering machine, and left a message.

Today.....since my message had went unreturned, I began calling at 9:56 am, getting a busy signal. In a nutshell.....I called a total of NINE times today, either getting a busy signal one minute, combined with leaving two additional messages.

I guess my money doesn’t spend well at his shop.
@AH64ID can you get me the Cummins part number for this actuator?

Surprisingly the Cummins distributor I bought my actuator from doesn't even list one for 18+.

GS, perhaps they packed up and went to Daytona?
This is not a tough job, you just need a way to calibrate. I believe a DIYer like yourself who’s truck is so important should own decent diagnostics anyway.

Not that it's an excuse for dodging a customer, but I bet the part is taking longer to source than anticipated.

Could be....especially the way threads pop up all the time regarding the failures of actuators.

BUTTTTTTT....he could answer or return a call stating such as well.

I had mine at my door step in 3 buisiness days from Texas. Everyone has 13-17 actuators. I looked at two large distributers website and neither show one for an 18 C&C. Not saying they aren't available, just not as readily available yet. Especially a reman.
