Here is what I got back on my actuator question:

Sorry for the delay. I had to do some additional research to get clarification. The Maximum Care plan is an exclusionary warranty. As such, if the component is not specifically excluded, then it is covered under warranty. The turbo actuator is not excluded, so it is a covered component. It is just not specifically listed in the document under diesel engine coverage.

I'd be curious how that plays out since there are threads of the actuator not being covered under the 5/100 warranty, just the 3/36.

But if it is an extension of the basic warranty and not the powertrain that might be the difference.

To add to the confusion, the Maximum care lists the turbo differently than the other 2 plans.. basically it will depends on what level of warranty you purchase.

The quote above about the turbocharger housing and internal components is from the added care plus and power-train plus plans, not the maximum care plan.

My inquiry was only about Max Care.

A new issue with the 12" display, the right sideview camera is blank. Don't know if it's a camera issue or something with the head unit. Thinking about it, I am pretty sure the 360 view was working when the backup camera came on this morning, so that would point to the head unit. I'll check that and update this.

A quick update: On Tuesday I dropped the truck off for the camera issue, the ongoing 12" Etch-A-Sketch antics, rear ride height issue L to R, and yet another Aisin re-flash. Just got it back today. They replaced the camera, and that is working, again. They said FCA still says they are aware of all of the wacko behavior of the 12" display, and to wait for a software update with no earthly idea of when that may happen. They are specifically instructed to NOT replace the display. Doh! Despite the photos I sent them clearly showing the left ride height being an inch lower than the right with the truck sitting on a scale pad, they said that doesn't count as verification, and it was level when they measured it. Double DOH! They did perform the latest re-flash. It still does the 2-1 slam on my driveway. Oh well.

I have an idea they clamped down on quick and dirty Warranty display changes....that's no low dollar item and I bet the vendor put their foot down....

No doubt you are right, Mike. I have had the truck since July, and the display has been wacky from the get-go, and the no change policy was already in effect at that time. But how long does it take for these dopes to come up with an update? Perhaps they should have stuck to the 8.4 display instead of introducing this pricey, half-baked Etch-A-Sketch.

Sorry Tom. Midnite smells of coolant again. I’m cringing at going back to exercise my max care. Most def going to a different dealer. Maybe they’ll put back more coolant than what they drained.

I guess I can knock on wood that mine has been flawless. Now getting info on its use is a different story. Like reading in the manual setting my electric brake settings, not a word in the instructions about “unless you have the 12” radio. I really like the 12” screen and the functions of it. TFucili, are you aware of the the screen protector that’s available through Amazon?

Yes, I have read about it, and some mixed reviews regarding fitment. Haven't sprung for it yet, but probably will. So far, I keep a clean microfiber in my door for it.

Well, here's an update on actually using my truck, instead of the latest reflash information. We had to drag the toyhauler to the Sundowner plant in Coleman, OK for some work(long story). The route was I-10, I-20, I-30, 820, 35W, I-35, 82, 75, 48.

As expected, the truck pulls like an animal. When pulling I set the cruise 65-68. Empty 71-72.
Trip Towing Avg. 10.24, Low 9.47, High 10.83
Trip Empty Avg. 14.24, Low 14, High 14.5
Trip Overall 11.85

We don't have DEF at the pump locally, so I did not start out full. I do track my fuel and DEF, and did top off the DEF in Pecos, TX, so to that point the DEF use since new averaged 814.2 mpg. As a WAG, based on eyeballing the gauge, I would say this trip, 50% towing, was likely in the 500 mpg range overall. Just a WAG, though.

To summarize, the truck pulls great, is very comfortable, handles and stops the trailer with ease. The star of the show is the Titan 55 gal tank I had installed. No range anxiety, and stop at your convenience. I can't say I am thrilled with the mpg, as this was a pretty flat route. For reference, my 2500 6.4/66RFE gasser averaged 7.5-8.5 pulling the same trailer. To be fair it was pretty windy on both empty days returning home. The truck now has a bit over 12K miles.
