Oh wow that phenomenal!!

Do the morimoto fog light LED's look the same temp/color as the HIDs?

I've made my mind up about the fog, definitely want morimoto for fog, but I wish they had a plug n' play kit of LEDs over HID.

@DeansRedRam The Morimoto XB LED Fogs shine white but a little on the bluer scale, however they’re close. About the difference of a 5500k to a 6500k bulb.

I really do appreciate the pictures. For me, I would want my headlights to match my fog lights. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I do understand that HIDs do better in a projector housing like mine are as well.

My pet peeve is not being able to see in the dark. Not how close my lights match in color.

Deer don’t have a color preference.

This is a shot of all my lighting on with high beams. Including LED light bar and cubes.
I can count the hair on a deer’s arse at almost 5,000 ft. LOL

My Morimoto XB LED fogs we’re plug and play.

That's the problem with the OE fog lights, the reflectors are so poorly designed that they just blind people more with better bulbs.
Brightness in itself is useless unless the light is directed correctly.

Ahhh okay, didn't know that.. Thank you

In my 18 I have;
Low Beam: 9005
High Beam: 9005
Fog: 9145
Not too sure on the reverse lamp, the manual that is in my uconnect8.4 says
Premium reverse lamp: 7440/W21W
Reverse Lamp: 921

I'm going to guess, I have premium in a Limited trim truck.

To my knowledge, HB3=9005 as well.

Now just time to make a decision on brand.. Most likely will go with Morimoto for the whole fog light assembly after what I just learned.

So, after some extensive research last night, I've found that the best performing/brightest LED headlight in our Ram Projector headlight assembly is the "GTR Lighting Ultra Series 2" They even suprass Morimoto as far as LED vs LED. Link Below;

https://gtrlighting.com/9005-hb3-gtr-lighting-ultra-2/

Our projector headlight housings for the High beams is a cramped space and the best performing/brightest "small LED" to fit that space is GTR Lighting CSP Mini. Link Below;

Now, DogPatch you are indeed correct that HIDs are the brightest, unfortunately LED technology isn't there yet like you said. But I like how LEDs are instant on and less wiring. I'm sure any upgrade in bulb will be significantly better than stock for me.

So many options.. I really just want to go with Morimoto's complete XD LED housing but can't justify dropping $1400 on headlights.

If anyone is interested where I got alot of this info is from "Headlight Revolution" on YouTube. They have awesome videos directly comparing the best bulbs in exactly our projector housings. See those videos here;

Personally, I'm probably going to go with Morimoto Fog housings, and GTR lighting Ultra Series 2 for Low/High Beam.

I hate to be the bearer of even more bad news, but unless they've fixed the issues with those headlights recently, they're not a completely viable option, either.

I had three pairs with something wrong with each light, except for the last pair when I only tested one of them, so the other one could have been good, but at that point I gave up.
Either the adjustment wouldn't work right, and/or the low beam projector was clocked wrong. And in all fairness, their warranty was very good. I could've got a fourth pair, but opted for a refund.

There's a guy in Texas that can fix them, and upgrade them at the same time, but he seems to have gone silent.
At this point I have two sets of Alpha Rex headlights that he modified, one with HID and one with LED.
Haven't decided which kind I'll run yet, as the better bulbs in my OE quads are doing quite well for now.

Thank you for filling me in, but I still don't think I'm going to go that route, far too expensive for my wallet.

I ordered and tried the Aukee 18,000 Lumin LED’s in my high beam lenses.

They sucked.

I took them out, put my PIAA Extreme White Plus 9005 Halogen bulbs back in and returned the LED’s.

The End.

From my understanding, with LED headlights, you get what you pay for. Those GTR Lighting Ultra Series 2 are right around $200 and seem to have awesome reviews.

I'm gonna try to stay away from amazon LEDs.

Not sure if applicable to your headlight but... My 2018 2500 had the "projector" type assembly and I went with Headlight Revolution. I did all the lamps up front along with the Mishimoto fogs. The high beam and low beam AND canbus adapters all fit inside the housing with no issues, Takes a little careful tucking and pushing but it all fits and seals back up nicely. Color temps matched from hi/low/fogs. The difference was 1000% and you didn't blind oncoming vehicles... Looked factory as in cut-off and throw pattern just a heck of a lot more light.
