I had one that had the physical camera but was not enabled, they had no problem adding it, was about $185 to program the option, was pretty straight forward out in and out about 40min.I was playing with new truck today put the B W 5th hitch in . and found I forgot to order the cargo camera . Now I can't see the hitch to line up the pin. Can the dealer install one ?? all advice welcome
noIs the new one a short bed?
As far as adding it my dad has been told no by 2 dealerships. There are aftermarket options thou, and they use the OE camera.
Correct. As best I understand....the wiring harnesses are partially integrated within the headliners. Adding a rear cargo camera will be much more difficult with a Tradesman truck than it will a Laramie (or higher) trim level truck.I looked up the parts for the cargo camera and they are stupid expensive. The CHMSL is $700! Then you have to hope the wiring is there. Best to look for aftermarket.
What is it an after market camera give me more info pleaseSee the black dot in the center of the front box. It looked right at the hitch and displayed on the 4.3" display in the cab. Cheap to do. Worked great, and much better than the RAM OEM camera from the reports I have seen.
Similar to this. I have a second camera on a switch that looks down at front bumper. The way is works is both camera have separate inputs. First switch provides power to rear camera and second switch provides power to the front grill camera, we it powers on the display auotmagically switches to the input. What is it an after market camera give me more info please
Getting the wiring out of the cab thanks pal for the rear camera was a little work. Came to the rear seat floor area under the carpet, and then out via the recessed storage/cooler in the floor.
