4 whl drive help on 2004.5 Ram

Billet input shaft markings 102516

I was accidentally sent a 6.7 filter and although they look almost identical, the 6.7 filter would not fit all the way in and was too tight. Make sure you don't have the wrong P/N or it will not fit correctly.

Yep, I got the 4" filter and crushed part of it making it fit, come to find out , they gave me one for the 6.7, the 4" for 5.9 fits perfect

Same here, got the 6.7 and that is a bad press fit. The 5.9 4" drops just in the air box.

Maybe that is what happened to me... I can't remember the PN for the filter they provided but it seemed too tight. So the proper 5.9 filter is the Wix/NAPA 9946? I definitely want to try and take advantage of the 4" version. Thanks for all the feedback!

Yes it is.

Since this has become the latest air filter thread I thought I would add the part number for the Mopar OEM 4" filter: AF-53034249AA

I also see that Geno's has two Cummins (I assume Fleetgaurd) filters for the 2003-2007 trucks as follows:

AF-4177 - new design without foam front
AF-26106 - original design with foam front

Has anyone used the Cummins filter with the foam front? I'm wondering if it provides any additional filtration?
