EB stuck on

So, drove the truck to the store this morning and shut it off. 10 minutes later, got back in and started the truck. The exhaust brake is stuck on and won’t turn off.
I’m guessing my next move is to remove the actuator and see if the arm moves freely? I have no codes or warning lights.

comrade - im not an expert by any means. just have lots of old cars. wouldnt it make sense to see if the EB button on the dash is stuck or something along those lines first? maybe wiring etc? seems to me a lot easier to check that first rather than get into the actuator. just my .02 best of luck, and cheers!

Idling or driving, it won’t disengage.

It makes perfect sense. The button on the dash seems to work properly. It scrolls thru both brake settings and to off. When you push the button to go from full brake to off, you can hear something kinda click from the turbo area, but I can’t be in two places at once. I ran the wiring out and it looks good too.

Well, the switch will go through the body module first and then ecm, not direct to the actuator.
It very well could be the VGT collar in the turbo is stuck, but it should throw a code.

That’s what I thought too, but there are no codes.

This truck is tuned?
If so, tune could have been corrupted causing issues.

It’s set to stock tune. I returned the truck to factory tune and got the same results, brake is stuck on.

I'd try what p-Bar suggested before you dig too deep. Seriously, it'd be the easiest.

No problem! I’ll try any easy solution first, it’s just never worked with anything on this truck in the past.

The next step for diagnosis will be to get it to someone who has a dealer level scan tool or the oem WiTech scan tool so they can see exactly what is going on.

If I take the actuator off the turbo and keep it plugged in electrically, would the gear in the actuator turn if I have the key in the run position and push the exhaust brake button?
