Planning on picking up my truck this week. Still stalling but not as often or bad. I can leave in D and all is good just chance stalling when going into R. Once home I'm going to clean, test and reinstall each engine sensor and go from there. Fingers crossed... I'm leaning towards bad engine temp or Cam Pos Sensor, might be APPS needs to be retaught = disconnect both neg batteries for however long is required, reconnect, slowly throttle to floor slowly back up, etc.

More to come -> hopefully useful/positive results/information.

Interestingly not many people have had this stall situation and the info posted here from my fellow TDR'ers has pretty much pointed to folks having issues like this being the Cam Position Sensor. I just got to look at everything. And, let us not forget, the truck "never, ever, ever" stalled until immediately after install of refreshed injectors. TTYL

Sorry, my mistake, yes Crank Position Sensor. Bottom line for me, unfortunately at this point, is process of elimination = remove sensors, other than cam & crank position, 1 at a time (if I can't ohm out in place) read ohms - if good per FSM, clean reinstall, see if still stalls. If not longer stalling BINGO, if still same - next sensor, lather, rinse & repeat.

They are so cheap, just replace them. Ohming out don't work all the time because of the influence of heat and harmonics.

Thanks. Always go with Cummins or DC. One time I was on the road and the water pump went. O'Rielys "new" lasted one year, took back with receipt they gave me a replacement, lasted one year. Took back with receipt credited my card for full amount. Went to local Cummins place new unit, been going strong for over 6 years now. Oh, don't even think about not getting the correct from Cummins T-Stat...

Picked up yesterday. Stopped to fuel up before heading home, cheaper than home fuel only $2.75/gal vs & 3.49... Went to start, crank no start for like 10-15 seconds, 3 times... I'm like WTF!!! Then just turned key and fired like always. Really leaning towards crank sensor now. Will see if local Cummins has in stock, Geno's was on BO till end of March, just checked now till end of April. Hope Cummins has in stock. Going to recheck all connections and grounds then go over sensors. More to come. What an absolute nightmare this is being...

For sure. Just got of phone with Cummins, crank sensor $68.67 engine coolant sensor $20.35. Both on backorder...typically 1-2 months and as soon as they come in poof they're gone. Colleen said she since I have long standing account she can book them for me and call as soon as they're in stock. And she'd check other branches for stock and see if she can get asap. Now, whether or not I'm getting lip service, that's customer service like I the old days!

Part number is 4921601, I have three of them in the bin, but absolutely no way to sell you one.

I would call any Heavy Truck, Bus, and RV dealer in your area that sells or services Cummins, most of them do.

Most any of the Diesel Performance shops on the web probably stock them. Just have to find someone that has them on the shelf. You might check with Jeff at Mumau Diesel (724-354-3136), Thoroughbred Diesel (859-737-4966), Pure Diesel Power (715-254-1833), KLM Performance (203-210-7200).

KLM had Coolant Temperature Sensor PN 4954905 $22.45, to my door Express UPS $34.14
Raneys Truck Parts (https://www.raneystruckparts.com) Crank Position Sensor PN 4921601 $49.95 (Stephan checked where would source & confirmed, while on the phone, source had in-stock), to my door Express UPS $66.20.

Thanks for info. BTW Nice folks at both KLM and Raney's

That was an extremely intermittent situation, maybe 1 in 10 times after injector installation. Now it's not doing it, so far, however the idle seems to fluctuate about 50 rpms when cold. I'm betting when the crank sensor comes out there'll be debris on it. New one supposed to arrive Saturday. Fingers crossed...
