Amsoil ATF has ASRC on the label, so I’m not sure how it could even be a conversation let alone an issue.

The Mechanic said Chrysler would still pay if they determined he was at fault.
Actually not true unless they lie about whose fault it is. The warranty covers defects from the manufacturer. The dealer has garage owners insurance, but they never use it when they can stick FCA for the bill. Just another reason the vehicles cost so much today, all the mistakes the dealers make and charge FCA for get paid for by all of us. It isn't so bad when it's a couple hundred dollar repair, but this one will be over $10,000 before it is repaired.

I really am envious of those that do the maintenance themselves and how it gets done correctly and the money saved. It adds up to a big figure.
I can only hope it saves any questions on any failure while on max care. So far all I have done is add or delete air pressure in tires. Even then discount tire overules me on every rotation...

I will say that following this thread, I have second thoughts about asking the dealer to look at my AISIN. I noticed at second tire rotation some evidence of possible weepage around a few bolts in the tail housing of the t-case, sprayed with brake cleaner and it was there again at 15k service... I'll keep an eye on it, but seeing what happened here, I think I'd rather watch a potential leak than have them proactively "fix it".
I don't know about you all, but it seems when I take things in for warranty repair, I get them back worse than they started... I would rather do it myself... happened with initial quality issues on my 5er.. my wife's Honda (air bag recall they broke the dash). my truck is less than a year old and there are blemishes / discoloration and wrinkles in the door vinyl (between the windows). but I think it would be worse if I asked them to fix it..... seems always to be the case.. take it in for one thing end up with 3 other things in return

Just my 0.02$

Hind sight is GREAT!!!
Still not a conversation starter with ASRC on the bottle. It meets the “or equivalent” as written in the owners manual.

Understood but people use what they can to deny warranty sometimes.

I have the AMZ/OIL receipt to obtain this am. My son is working on that. They sent one but was not my order so hope to have correct one any minute. I will sen it to Service guy plus my 4 gallons of Chrysler AISIN fluid plus MOPAR filter receipts. That should be all they need to approve and get the darn trans ordered!!! One week today since it was dropped off.

You are doing great at one week out. Here it would be just sitting to be looked at for that week. GM is same situation…

Well hopefully they have all info to back up my maintenance now. The service guy said it in “pending” status so hopefully it gets ordered today.

The seal on the torque converter was where the fluid was lost. The underside of truck is dry.

I checked and the two alignment pins are in place.

Just got the word repair is APPROVED!!!!!

Trans is coming out of Salt Lake, that is WAYYYYYY better than New Jersey. Hope to have delivery dates tomorrow for trans and all other parts.

This AM they wanted me to prove filter purchase for 60k service! Had to explain again I bought it with 4 gallons Mopar atf but didn't use as I am guessing someone on here explained to me the filter was not needed at the 30k service. That's why I bought only the gasket from Geno's just before performing the 60k service.

Thank GOD for having history available of receipts from Geno's, AMZ/OIL and AMAZON!!! Lesson to ALL save or document your service receipts plus keep a log book as I do.

Bottom line they need proof that I bought what is needed to do the 30 and 60k services. Just need the AMZ/OIL receipt.

Okay.. after following this saga, I think I would like to get the opinions out there... I buy all my maintenance items from Geno's and AMZOIL except the T6 Rottella which is Walmart. To date I have 17.5k on the clock, done Oil change at 6k and 15k, Fuel filters at 15k, Gear oil (severe gear) at 13k. I have been using the filters I had on hand from my 2004, purchased in bulk from Geno's and I still have 2 left, been taking photos of the filters in bags, and oil etc so I have a date. Do I need to purchase new ones now to have receipts dated also? I was going to buy fuel filters soon so I would have them on the shelf (if needed) and ready for the next change but that'll be next year. I also keep air filters, oil filters, etc in house so receipt dates would not match the use dates (hence the pictures)... And Amzoil I usually partner with my other Ram brethren to bulk order so not sure where that receipt is but might be able to get my hands on it? Just thoughts since it came up.

BTW any movement on that AISIN.. pun intended.

IMHO more documentation the better along with a Log Book.

still saying the 22nd but it’s showing Dearborn. Parts guy is requesting an overnight shipment. Fingers crossed!!!

ya have a log on my laptop and backed up on the server, just trying to figure ou the best way to keep track of receipts since they are all from before I bought this truck (except for the fuel filters)

I made "way-too-much-info" EXCEL spreadsheets for all my vehicles for many years. Each one got amended as the data retained requirements expanded. The spreadsheet has evolved for my most recent vehicle, 2020 Ram 2500, to include scanning receipts, work orders, etc. to my computer then linking into the appropriate spreadsheet line items. Covers those laser printed "with time based disappearing ink" receipts. Files, folders, and spreadsheets are kept on my laptop, WD My-Cloud and a thumb drive. Yeah, retirement has its time perks.:D
