I rode a lot in this bus back in my early days in RV Resort. This video in 2012. I always left 20 or 25 bucks on the dash for gas and got first priority on the shotgun seat. This is on upper Ajax's in Box Canyon East of Florence.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's I picked up a flat fender that already had a 283 in it that had a rod knock. I found a freshly rebuilt 283 at a marine repair business going out of business and got it cheap. Install 11" brakes around around and a Warn overdrive.

So this summer I got back into off roading with a Kawasaki KRX 1000. Picture below in near the top on Montana Mountain. All the rain in Arizona last summer tore up the road quite a bit, I however never engaged 4 wheel drive. I am new to SxS' and was told I should have put it in 4x4 mode as it is easier on the rear tires to let the front help pull. There is a third mode that locks the front diff.

Boosted Talon! Tell me more! Is it a kit like Jackson racing makes?
yeah with some modifications. I have just over 4K on the turbo, over 6K on the machine. It's been amazingly reliable. has a few design flaws that i found and fixed. Jackson has some updated parts out for them. the air filter housing and location as junk. so i opted for a Donaldson housing mounted in the bed above where the cover goes. the JR one is a K&N and they are absolute junk and will dust your engine.

My curiosity just got the best of me... how much total cost including mods? I have no idea or frame of reference.

Thanks, Ron

Side by sides are like boats, if you have to ask price on the unit or upgrades, you probably can not afford it!!!!

Taking one to Shock Therapy is 1,700 minimum.

I'm not answering for Killer but a custom cage, which is practically mandatory because ALL of the OEM cages are BARELY capable of sustaining a crawling speed roll over let alone something at a moderate speed is around $2k. Last I saw the Jackson kit was north of $5k. The Cost of a Talon like everything is dependant on location. The cage is the most important mod of anything you will ever do on a sxs. The way the OEM's build them should be criminal. They fold like a lawn chair and maim too many people.

It is just a saying, and was not meant to offend you. I can guarantee he has a lot of money in it however.

Sorry, it rubbed just a little wrong... I was just wondering rough order of magnitude was more or same as an extreme Jeep. I've never known anyone with a Talon or similar and have no baseline. I got most of my extreme four wheeling out of my system while stationed in Iceland.

The Red Bus I posted early had almost 30K in upgrades before he was done, ten years ago. A side by side is pretty easy to do that same thing to, that is the cost of upgrades coming close to the original purchase price, OR maybe even more. As some guys just go all out on upgrades. I just ordered the mid priced full belly skid plate for my KRX and it was over 500, the top line one with shipping is around 900+. Tires are 250+ each and many upgrade right after buying the rig. I will run my OEM tires for a while and switch to LT tires which many do. My rig came with 31-10-15's and I can go to 35-10-15's which increases ground clearance. I have two stage springs on the shocks, and I replaced the tender(top softer spring) and all four corners. Springs were less than 300. Take it to Stock Therapy and the 8 upgraded springs and shock turning is the 1700 I mentioned earlier. Have them add electronic ride control and the number jumps much higher. Like just about every motor sport, SxS are not for those that are on a limited budget! My four point harness for two seats was just under 400, Kawasaki's 6 point is almost 600.
