Looking at new 2022 Bighorn CTD, just sold my 2006 so I thought to stop by and see how they are doing compared to the 2019's

Was told if I order one look for it to be 6 months maybe more to get it, so looking at Dave Smiths in Kellogg ID as they are the only ones with in 500 miles of having 2500 big horn with CDT in the 3 colors I want and without 20 inch tires

Dave Smith told my BIL it would be around 100 days on an order. He ordered at the very end of September and it was unloaded from the train this week and should be ready for delivery any day. Today is day 116.

The local dealer, which will easily beat Dave Smith prices, is quoting 12-16 weeks.

Just a mid range 2022 big horn QC with 6.4 bed 4x4 18 tires and alloy wheel no chrome clad for me, been there done that

2500? 3500? SO or HO?

I want a 2500 SO, I Did not ask DS how long it would take if I order one through them, I just spoke to my 3 local idiots and one broker who was recommended by credit union

If you do look into ordering call Dennis Dillon in Caldwell, Idaho. They will beat DS price.

My understanding is that the HO is the longest built time, which is what my BIL ordered.

I;ll give Dennis Dillon a look see to see what they have in stock as I feel a bit lost with out a truck in the drive even thought is only been 4 hours since I sold my 06

Does the FWC go on the 2022?

Unfortunately no, I actually sold the FWC several years ago. I should have kept it for solo trips, but the family outgrew it. We've been through a few iterations, but just picked up a new to us ATC toyhauler.

I don't think there are many 19+ trucks on here, so info is scarce. I am not sure, but I might be the only 2500 owner, there are a few 3500's. Mine is a '21 Tradesman, 4 door 4x4, short bed with coil spring rear, so SO. The Bighorn is a nice upgrade @ about $5k more. I tow commercial so I always have a trailer hooked up. I have 11k miles so far with no major issues. It pulls as good or better than my tuned up '01 6 spd. I love the auto in stop and go. The torque management is very slight or I am easy to please. Off line power is there. The AC is marginal but the heater is good. I have had a few computer type glitches but they seem to iron out over time.

Do you want air ride or coil springs? The coils will flat out soak up the rough roads but still tell you it is a truck if you hit a bad one. I carry a lot of weight in the bed so about 1500 lbs pin weight is about all the coils will level. I did add aftermarket air bags for a little extra cushion against rear end sag with a big load.

If you have any specific questions I will be glad to answer them. Overall, I really like my new truck, but it is the first new truck for 30 years:)
