Due to shortages I ordered 12 filters each ( oil, fuel, fuel). Have to say this is the first time a sent 3k on filters. ( Canadian Dollars) including tax.
Looks sweet so....My sons 21 and my 22 we go trough 2 changes each per year or more...so 3 year supply...

There was a gigantic shutdown of the supply chain just-in-time system, worldwide, that has not fully come home to roost yet. Supply and demand is not necessarily inflation. Prices are coming down but like anything else, once a company knows they can sell at X profit margin, why lower it?

NAPA in Tumwater, WA has a wall of it, $15.99 is the MSRP but their in-store printed sign says $12.10 each. Stacked 5 high, 44 in a row.

I'm going to go at lunch and fill the tank since its now finally empty, should be fine all summer and run out about the time my diesel tank(s) do, I'll leave it in the garage on Hot Days.

I bought the Walmart stuff yesterday, they had plenty, but the price is double what it used to be.

On a positive note, they had 6 gallons of Rotella T6 5w40. Price was the same. Even though I am nearly 6 months out for my next oil change, I bought 3 of them.

I guess I had my first real experience of no bulk DEF available at a truck stop in NM today. There was an option to buy boxed DEF purchase at the pump, but had half a tank, so didn't go there. I don't count WalMart being out because just takes a couple OTR truckers or folks hoarding to deplete the WalMart brand. Our WalMarts always seem to have the Peak, but been a long time since I bought Peak. And diesel was 5.699/gallon and I filled 111.89 gallons. Crazeee.

I've cut way back on truck use and mine is pre DEF, debating on pulling the 5th wheel RV very far. Even filling up the CRV with regular is painful. o_O

I don't see local business surviving long, the restaurants are about done for. No one can afford the drive to work around here! My local Walmart has oil and DEF usually, for now anyway.

My buddy has a semi and just had 1400 gallons delivered. He didn't even ask the price, but I know it was well over $6.00 a gallon. When he works delivering fertilizer he burns 105 gallons per day. He thinks it will be over $8 by summer. I just drove from CA to NC and it reminds you just how much is delivered by truck and train

For diesel or DEF?

I paid $4.419 for bulk DEF yesterday. Up $0.49/gal since Dec.

With the price of diesel and if DEF gets scarce, I see the price of diesel pickup trucks tanking. I have been toying with the idea of selling my '01 while the price is high but if DEF goes away, I will need it.

Doubtful DEF will go away, too much dependency on it, but I could see it go up. I need to get off my @zz and go fill my tank soon, I already filled my 100g diesel tank(s) but neglected to swing by Loves and fill the DEF,.. Once I do that, all my summer plans are covered for fuel that is and I'll just keep riding the Honda 250 to work,.. 75mpg :D
