Hello,

The long brake line that runs between the drivers side front wheel compartment all the way back above the tank to the rear axle broke on my truck. Is this line one continuous brake line or are there any splices in it?

Mine is a 2001, QC, Short bed, 4WD, 4-wheel ABS with rear drum brakes.

Has anyone swapped out all old rusty brake lines to new SS lines on their 2nd gen?

Thanks in advance.

It’s one line. They often rust out behind the tank. We used to cut it in front of the tank and aft of the tank and put a new piece in. Now we have copper/nickel brake line that won’t rust and you can bend it with your hands. No need for stainless. Get you a roll of it and some fittings and re-plumb the whole truck. Man, I can’t imagine trying to bend and flare stainless tubing.

I replumbed a '54 Ford that I am restoring with copper/nickel. If you plan to replace the entire line you can reuse your fittings. Of course a patch would require some new ones. You also need a tube cutter and a double flair kit. Both are inexpensive.

Inline tubes and right stuff make alot of tubing kits, not sure if they have one for you application, but I did the stainless kit on my 95 OBS bronco and my 70 camaro... it was not terribly expensive and it was drop in.

Highly recommend the nickel/copper. Remove old line in one piece, if possible, use it as the guide to make new line. Bend a bit then tie wrap to old, keep going and before you know it you'll have the new line done. It'll be a bit of a challenge to feed back in place, but with patience you'll get there. Use a long ¼" extension, or long screwdriver, to help push line into plastic line holders. Good luck

LMC Truck lists the pre-bent front to back brake line, in stainless. This link should go to the page of their catalog:
https://www.lmctruck.com/1994-15-dodge/brakes/de-1994-02-brake-lines
If that doesn't work, this is the main link: https://www.lmctruck.com/

Other than the part being listed (at $75 plus shipping), I know nothing about it.
