at98.5 24 valve one of the first 100 24 valves, dad bought it new and now I own it. Here are the parts that are industrial injection, race block and street head, studs, ducky fuel injection 240 hp injectors, hot rod vp44, fass 165, super phatshaft 64/71/14, over a 75/96/1.15 s475, edge comp drag box, ice box aftercooler, crazy carls twin piping kit, my egts are hotter not towing but stay under a 1100, all day long. Truck is also a 5 speed and on a 6" lift and 35s and re geared to 4.10s. I will be posting videos and pictures of the truck build. New here but seen lots of bs on what people think they know about 24 valves and building them but don't know ****. If anyone wants to know more about the build let me know, glad to help and share will be posting the entire build and step by step along the way

You guys are missing the point here and seems I offended some people here. Never found much info on hot rod vp44s without legit results and proof of it, just opinions. See how that pump says 028 SHO, that's a industrial Injection Hot Rod VP44, has been a great pump, great power, wicked throttle response, and burns clean no haze idling, also gained 2 mps with it. Runs like a stock output vp on a comp box set at level 3-4. Spools my bigger setup compounds fast. No complaints should have done it long ago. TOWS like a freight train egts are under 1100 towing or empty. Now edge drag comp on kill goes to 1250-1400 But that's pretty good for what's done. Short burst drag racing or sled pulling dont hurt it.

The title is hot rod vp44 myths, was suppose to be about just that, nothing else, to prove it can be done with legit results and how to do it.

Just for you skeptical I see
???

I have a pretty good grasp on what makes a good Cummins powered tow truck, Exhaust brake (x4) is a good start, don't leave home without it...

I guess I didn't learn anything about RAM/Cummins trucks from 1994 to 2021 with three of them! :) :) :)
Never said you guys didn't know. The title of the post should talk for itself. Here is the same truck with my toy hauler on a 8-10% grade for 5 miles towing my raptor toy hauler which weighs 18k bumper pull. same engine with everything above listed. Also already have a 5" pacbrake pxrb air powered exhaust brake, with 5 gallon reservoir. Whole post was about people talking about hot rod vps being garbage and bad idle and can't tow which is total bull ****. Same guys running way to small of injectors with that pump, way to small lift pump, and way to small turbo or turbos with that pump. Making a YouTube channel to upload the proof it can be done. Will share links when that is done.

Where have you seen someone here post that “hot rod vp44s and built 24 valves can't tow or [be driven on the] street”?

Not so much this forum but the other forums saying they are rough running, not worth the money joined this forum because I'm my opinion is legit and never was able to find hard proof to prove it. That's all I was doing, with this is showing it's possible and any one else with a hot rod vp44 and results join the post! I'm also talking about real Hot Rod VP44 injection pumps, not so or ho.

Anyone I knew who was serious about performance with a 98-02 cummins did a P Pump swap and left the VP in the scrap pile where it belonged.

95% of those are dyno queens, and fast trucks, not super street or do it all trucks. I'm sure there's a few p pump 24 valves that are, I just haven't seen one in person do it all, I have friends with trucks that are, yeah they are big power and quick, but don't tow heavy with them. The vp44 was more a challenge and experience, doing something different instead of giving up and going that route. Should be titled "come all ye with own opinions" lol anyone here can say what the want, but haven't troubles uploading video proof of what I've said to this forum. Don't want to make a YouTube channel either.

A nice Scheid diesel 13mm p pump with quick rate cam will destroy any hot rod VP any task, any day of the week. Rpm, fuel flow for truck pulling, or camper pulling, with mechanical reliability to boot. Not plug and play, takes a little work with wrenches but the big boys know what’s up, no VP44s on the PPL circuits, that’s for sure....

OP, That is a beautiful truck you've built there ... Seriously !!!

If you stop bragging about all you know about it and trying to one up forum members who you don't even know, your thread might even thrive here.

That said, if for whatever reason you CAN'T stop yourself from trying to one up or talk down members here, you'll prolly want to find a another forum where your immature antics will fit right in.

Just sayin'

Not correct, I'm trying to post stuff and people here are saying bs and talking p pump, got nothing against p-pumps, and how am I immature? Some people are the ones starting confrontation, haven't even had a chance to post the rest of it with responding to the bs being commented. Started this thread to post the whole thing and all I've got is condenseing talk about how I don't know anything and picking up wrenches. Haven't even been able to get All the pictures in a file and to word it step by step so it makes sense. Did this because when I built mine there was no real step by step. I'm not a hater but becoming one. not getting on posting some bs, just to be that guy swinging their opinion around that no one really cares to see. Being a long time member doesnt mean s@#$ to me, don't forget that. Also talk about picking up wrenches, been a Caterpillar field mining tech for 15 years, so don't need to hear what the p pump fan boy thinks about wrenching, when your on my level, let's talk.

As for the last guy and one upping comment, I do know a lot about 24 valves, but never never put anyone else down here. I'm not the one starting s@#$. As for the comment "he's a long time member" apply it to yourself, you don't even know me.

...how am I immature?

Its a FORUM...people are gonna have different opinions on what is best...get over it!!!

I'm not a hater but becoming one.

Clearly ...though I gotta say that it came through in your first post just a little.

Being a long time member doesnt mean s@#$ to me, don't forget that.

That is also already very clear to me!!!

... when your on my level, let's talk s@#$.

You just answered your own question about immaturity .

As for the comment "he's a long time member" apply it to yourself, you don't even know me.

Well I don;t know ANY of the members here except two of them but that doesn't mean I don't respect almost all of them after many long and meaningful conversations and threads about our trucks.

I'm sure Im not the only member who, despite your beautiful truck and excellent mechanical experiences, sees your immature attitude shining through your posts.

Whatever...your thread....your truck...post any way you want...I am fast not caring what you think about anything... nor even how awesome your truck is...I'm out ...GOOD JOB!!!

My first post wasn't supposed to come off that way. If you google hot rod vp44 pumps and go throgh the multiple forums on there you would see what I'm talking about in my post. I came here because I considered this a legit forum. Maybe the way I came off caused alot of this but it wasn't supposed to. came here open And was hoping to find some guys that were like minded, plenty of builds and posts here that I don't care to read or even thought were legit, also found a lot of things on here to be very helpful and knowledable guys, but when you start saying I'm not I got a problem. Everyone has their opinion and what's cool to them that's fine, I do not care. I'll never be the guy to condescend or reply smarta#_ comments. I'm the one to defend myself and my post. Want to talk about me being immature and you wasted time copying and pasting. As for the respect part, I joined beleiveing it was adults willing to see someone out on a post when it was said and done, the entire post. Being a forum would mean to me as a ADULT, would see the whole post out before posting a opinion haven't even had the chance too. It's ******* Wednesday, not done yet getting pictures/text together to make sense. Also never said let's talk s@#$ when your on my level, that was a know who your talking to before you talk stupid. Left alot that I said previously. Just quite a few people shooting down a post and me before you even know who your talking to.
